Hi all, it seems that the CT200H suffers from the same backup beep as the Prius and Lexus HS. Do you all know if it's possible to change it to a single beep? Any advice if the dealer says it's not possible? Thanks!
yah, I just read that in the Gen3 Prius, Toyota made it impossible to delete the back up beep....must be the same in the CT. crap.
Seach this forum for Scan Guage codes, there is a code that can be entered in the scan gauge that will change the constant beep to a single beep on the Prious. I don't know if the same code will work on the CT. You can also have the dealer change it at your first service or before you take delivery.
I bet it will. The CT200h is an awful lot like the Prius in so many little ways and I bet a lot of the software is the same.
You can reduce the beep to a single beep when Reverse is selected on the Gen 3. It's dealer-customisable and found on the appropriate section in the Owner's Manual.
BTW - I believe it's page 702 of the owner's manual where it lists the options for the reverse and seatbelt beep. If the dealer balks at changing it, show them that it's listed as a dealer customizable option.
I have spoken with the service manager where I bought my CT. Next time I bring it in, they have agreed to turn off the incessant reverse and seat belt buzzers.
Go to the Lexus main site and navigate to the CT200h page. From there choose 'service & maintenance' from the 'Features and Pricing' menu. Once there, choose the 'Service' tab and select 'Lexus Personalized Settings'. A list of PDFs for specific vehicles will appear. Choose your model to download its PDF. The single beep option is shown last (#36) - a dealer-only change. If the dealer says it's not possible, show him your printout. Hope this helps.
