Hello All, I am totally new to Prius, how new? I bought my car second hand and I don't even have it yet, and this is my first Hybrid. Nice to meet you all and I am looking foward to learn heaps from everyone... Blessings Clement
Welcome Clement. Let us know what you think once you get it and have a chance to get familiar with it.
Hi everyone, it's been nice to have such a warm welcome from you guys... I will surely post some feedback, but my guess is that a prius will suit HK's traffic style, which is traffic jam 24/7... I used to be a manual car person, I've driven a manual sporty car since I first got my licence.... but eventually my Euro R was crashed last month, and I thought Prius is going to be a good choice to save some bucks on fuel while I am regaining my no claim bonus with insurance.... that's why I'm getting the Prius.... I am going to pick it up this afternoon... hopefully everything runs well....
I took a pic of 2010 Prius when I was in HK last year. I was surprised to see the progress / contrast in technology with the taxis (very old Toyota model).
Welcome abord. Soon you will know lots of good guys here. Full of knowledge and experience. Any question in the future, just ask. We are happy to answer.:welcome:
Welcome. Judging by your Cooper S, I am assuming that you either have or had a Mini. If so, be sure and let us know how you think the Prius stacks up again the Cooper, in fit and finish, as well as general driveability.
Ha, good spot buddy, yes my first car is a 1991 Mini Cooper S 1275... actually being a Prius owner the 2nd day feels quite great, the car is a great drive and it feels like a normal automobile... but I have to say, as a new owner, the dash is really a distraction from the road as I cant go against the temptation of looking at it... but otherwise, the car is comfortable, easy to drive and surprisingly less body roll than I expected. I am planning to lower it too... what springs you guys suggest??
Thanks for the reply. In 1964-65 I was returning to the States from abroad. I kept up with rally racing at the time and knew that the Mini Cooper was dominating rallying. I came back convinced to buy a Mini as soon as possible. On the way to the dealership I had to pass a BMW lot and so went in and looked at the 2002. To make a long story short, I ended up buying the BMW 2002. I have always wondered about that decision. I do however, think that the 2002 was probably the best all-around car I ever owned. The number of cars I have owned passed 30 long ago. Yea, the Prius feeds us a lot of info, and it is tempting to look at the display constantly. Rest assured that the need to look at it 100% of the time will pass and you'll be like most of us who only look about 90% of the time. Congrats again. (Can't help you on the springs question.)
Gee..... you've got a 2002? was it a Tii?? I love those cars.... I meant, those cars back in the past was light, direct and fun to drive... It was hard to find one now a days.... I've got a diecast model of the 2002 Turbo still... but in my mind, the new generation Mini was not that good... in short, it is not a Mini, it can be called a small car, but it is definitely not the Mini from the first generation... maybe the old one is too good as a classic... hahaha, looking at the dash 90% of time is not a lot better than 100% of time.... but i reckon that screen gives you a lot of reminder on how you behave on your foot, so it's extremely important to read it if you want to do a good MPG...
