Hi everyone! My wife and I are looking for a new used Prius. I posted our wishlist under the for sales section. This will be our first Prius. We don't know much about them yet, but this site seems to have loads of information, it's great! The main reason we're interested in getting a Prius is because we want to minimize our consumption of oil and help the environment and save money! We're looking forward to getting and driving a Prius! It's the least we can do. I'd rather walk or ride a bike if I could. Peace, love, and happiness, Todd
Welcome to PriusChat. I'm a "Tarheeler" and found a great new (used) Prius by using Used Toyota Cars, Trucks and Vans at Toyota Certified Used Dealers ? Toyota.com. This may be a great resource to get the search process started. The one I found was a dealer demo.
Thanks for the advice! We're searching for a used Prius with the original owner, all the maintenance and service records, no rust, and under 100k miles? We also have a price limit, but that's negotiable. We're looking at an 05' Prius with 69,000 miles on it. I've heard about the recall, but is there anything else we should know about the 05' Prius's? Is there a resource on this site that breaks down all the Prius's by year? Thanks so much for all the help!
These might help. http://priuschat.com/forums/knowled...andard-optional-equipment-some-countries.html http://priuschat.com/forums/dealers-pricing/88518-18-000-please-help-me.html#post1241833 http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-ii-...ed-prius-need-help-what-look.html#post1215778 http://priuschat.com/forums/newbie-forum/88979-used-prius-buyer-best-model-year.html If you want one with an aux audio input jack (from the factory), you'll need an 06 or newer. But, that doesn't mean it'll have it. Very stripped down ones won't. It's located inside the center cubby/armrest. 3rd gens started at the 2010 model year, but if you're considering an 05, then a 2010+ is probably out of your budget. If you'd consider a 3rd gen, see http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii-2010-prius-main-forum/88583-prius-versions.html#post1242903 and a bunch of posts that follow.
Great links and advice! Thank you! Looks like we are going to have to pass on the 05' now and wait for the improved/updated 06'+ models.
Well, I should probably change the name of this thread and/or call myself just Mountain Todd, because I now own a Prius!!! Wahoo!!!:cheer2: My wife and I spent the most part of the day and weekend learning about it and cleaning it. It's beautiful! This site has been very helpful and we're really excited about driving it and being hybrid/Prius owners!!! It's an 07 base model type II, white, with 97,000 miles and has an excellent service history at the dealership. We bought the car from a good friend of ours, which happens to be the original owner and on his way to go buy a new one. Our accessory wishlist is growing and we have a lot of stupid questions. We'll really appreciate any advice and/or help along the way. Thanks!
Welcome from another from the Tarheel state, just the other end Once you get familiar with your car fire away with questions. There are a lot of good people with a lot of good answers on this site.
