2010 prius manual trunk release

    does the 2010 prius have a manual trunk release? I was installing a backup camera and accidentally closed the hatch after I removed the trunk garnish. The battery is disconnected.

    Yes, there's a small lever at the back by the latch. You have to be able to crawl into the back cargo area and remove a small cover (p. 73 of the Owner's Manual, section on 'if the back door opener is inoperative').

    Are you implying all your doors are locked and the battery is disconnected? :rolleyes: If so, sounds like you need to take the mechanical key out of your smart key to unlock a front door (there in case the smart key or car battery is dead); then you may have to crawl to the back to reconnect the battery to unlock the hatch as usual or use the release lever described in the previous post.
