hello just bought my prius last week and drove it from TX to VA... had a few questions that i'm hoping you guys and gals can help me out with car is --> 2005 prius, with every option (leather, navi, ect.) only has 28k miles D:rockon 1. i have no turn by turn on my navi. once i put an address it says following the route, and then nothign else... it doesn't let me know that the turn is coming up or anything.... does anyone have any idea what that could be? 2. I was able to hook up my HTC evo and the bluetooth worked. I was able to make calls and get calls, the only problem is that the person on the other end can't hear me at all. I can hear them perfectly but they hear nothing coming from my end. 3. my voice command doesn't seem to work. I hit the little switch, and say radio and it says it doesn't understand that command, i say call, and same thing, i've used every word i can think of, is the mic. just busted? any way to test this. other then that i think i got a GREAT deal on a pretty awesome car. Never had a hybrid before so i'm still gettign use to it, but the amount of money i'll be saving on gas will more than make me happy at the end of the day.
1. Is the volume turned up? 2. The mic in the car could be damaged. 3. I assume the voice tells you when to say your command. But if the mic is damaged (as I stated in question #2), then the computer can't hear your command. I would ask the previous owner about these issues, to see if they worked for them.
how do you check if the mic is damaged, and is it an easy fix? and when you say if the volume is turned up, what do you mean. I mean i hear the other person without a problem, its just that they can't hear me.
You have a microphone problem, given your problems with voice commands and Bluetooth. The first thing to check is the volume setting. Take a look at this thread: http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-ii-.../33443-low-bluetooth-microphone-volume-2.html As for turn by turn, some map areas don't have it. If you are in an area where it should have turn by turn and still don't have it, check your Nav menu. You may have it turned off. Tom
nope...so i think my mic is busted.... now to find a new one.... anyone got an idea how much it will cost?? hopefully NOT from the dealership
If it were me, I'd remove the mic myself. But it's possible a connection came loose or broke. This link might help. http://www.evnut.com/prius_mic.htm
Did you change your zone for the navigation? The dvd has different regions for country and you changed regions for sure. You can also get yourself an owners manual from toyota's site for free which you can find out more on voice commands
