I was wondering if Toyota makes an All Weather rubber or plastic mat for the driver, passenger and back seat floor boards? I couldn't find one on the Toyota.com accessory page (only the carpet mats). I did see some on Ebay last week, but they seem to be gone now. Does anybody have any suggestions on finding, buying and using ones specfically for a 2005 Prius?
I haven't seen any specifically for the Prius (let us know if you find some!), but there are plenty that would fit that are generic. I had some in my Jeep and they worked pretty well.
I believe there's at least one thread on all-weather mats here, if it didn't get swallowed in the recent crash. The topic is also covered in this PriusOnline thread: http://www.priusonline.com/viewtopic.php?t...der=asc&start=0 The only problem I've had with my Carbox all-weather floor trays is on the driver's mat. Each mat is held in place by square velcro swatches at all four corners. The velcro's grip on the carpet is much stronger than the adhesive bond between the velcro pad and the bottom of the mat. As a result, the driver's mat eventually comes loose from all four velcro pads and starts sliding forward. I don't know if the WeatherTech mats have a similar problem. When I get around to it, I plan to try and clean all the adhesive off of each velcro piece and reattach them to the mat with Gorilla Glue. Hope this helps.
Toyota sells all weather mats that are specifically made for the Prius. I got mine from the dealership. They are costly, but since I got mine for free I couldn't complain. They both fit and work great.
Just curious- how did you get them for free? Do you mean the dealer threw them in with the purchase of your prius? Thanks! -G
I got generic ones from Canadian Tire. It didn't take much trimming to make them fit exactly. They have very deep ridges so the winter snow/salt from my boots won't make a mess.
Funny I saw this thread today because I just bought some all weather mats made FOR 04-05 Prii. There are 2 all weather mats that are Genuine Toyota parts, I opted for one of those because I figured they would fit the best. I found them on ebay for $65 for the set of 4. Go to ebay and search for "prius mat". That seemed to work best for me. There are actually a lot of factory mats on there, so make sure to check for differences between shipping costs if you choose ebay. One of our PriusChat sponsers, Sigma Automotive ( http://sigmaautomotive.com/jdm/prius/prius0405.php ) has the other set of factory mats for $95. This was the other set I was considering. I found this set on ebay for $70 though. Just keep an eye on shipping costs between all of these companies. Another PriusChat sponser that sells the same mats above is Toyota Parts Store ( http://www.toyotapartsstore.com/ ) although I couldn't actually find the mats through brosing. I had to enter the part number and this brought up the product. Kind of weird. The part number search is in the left menu and you enter part number 908-21050-02. They sell for $65 as well. If you check out J and S Accessories on ebay ( http://stores.ebay.com/J-AND-S-ACCESSORIES...1QQftidZ2QQtZkm ), he's got those factory floormats for 65, the mudflaps for 32, and the rear bumper protector for 24. I bought from him and saved a bunch on shipping since I bought all of these at the same time. Awesome deal. If you're getting the all weather floormats you might as well get something to protect your trunk area as well. I bought my 04 Prius without the carpeted trunk lid cover thing that goes over the hidden compartment. I called the dealership and they wanted $350 to replace this!!! That's just too bloody expensive for my taste. After some researching, I found a killer cool trunk area protector that I am going to use instead of this expensive piece. Then I will simply cut out a piece of plywood that's in the shape of that piece and put it under the product from Sigma automotive. It's $185 and described as an All Weather Cargo Tray, on the right hand side, under Interior. Good luck!
Try exactmats ( website is exactmats.com ). They work great and can go over carpeted mats or can be used without. I just put them in and they look great.
