I ordered a tideland green Prius but I have never seen one in person or in a photo. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
http://alexkarahalios.home.comcast.net/200.../2004Prius.html It's a light pearly charcoal grey with a dark green hint to it. If I knew where you were, I'd be able to help you out with finding one in person.
Check my album - I've got a Tideland. Also - on the Prius-2G group on Yahoo, there are some pics in the albums there - some with color references in order to facilitate accurate color correction. Think of the color this way. In bright sun, it's pretty much a metalic grey. In darker lighting (i.e. overcast, dusk, etc.), there's more of an olive green to the color. It's really quite cool.
I might as well jump in here with the folks with the tideland. My pics can be found at http://home.earthlink.net/~jkash1/MyPriusp..._Web/index.html Jeff
I have plenty if you want them! This color doesn't look anything like the color in the brochure. Not even close. I quess I'll get a chance to change things when they call me in June with the 05 update. Thanks for the pics.
Thanks for the tideland pics. I'm due to get one this week and I've been trying to understand this color. From what I can tell, it varies a lot depending on the lighting: sometimes the green is quite evident and other times more of a charcoal color? My wife really likes it so I guess I should be happy that this is the color I'm going to get. I'm a little disappointed though. After waiting all this time, 6 months, not to get my first choice, silver. But, I am getting one and thats the best part about it. Jody Rawles, Long Beach, CA
Since you live in Long Beach, go to Carson Toyota and ask Dianne or Gloria to show you the Prius rental cars. They have every color. We couldn't decide by looking on the internet, so we went there. The tideland pearl is very nice. I would say it's closer to charcoal--but there is a green tint. It's beautiful! Hope you enjoy your new Prius. Theo
I would say it is a chameleon color. It is either the pretty green in my pics or a very pretty grey that looks. Go look at a "mystic sea opalescant" lexus. The color is very similar.
OMG - awesome!! This is easily my fave color! I just posted a topic on what colors to get for my new Prius - and having seen these pictures on the Tideland Green, I've decided that the color choice was definitely right for me. I have a Lexus now that is a jade green, but I think I actually like this color option on the Prius more. I checked out the modifications topic too and I really like what I'm seeing - I'll definitely be purchasing some of those decals when my car is delivered. And now for info no one cares about - I want a Prius because it makes an environmental statement to everyone on these crazy jam-packed D.C. streets and freeways. Good news is I'm seeing more and more hybrids - and we get to drive in HOV lanes here as well! For those of you in this area, you obviously know the import of that! Anyway, I'm from So Cal originally and was so happy when I went back this weekend to see that there are tons of hybrids on the streets - though I wouldn't have thought otherwise. Starting the revolution from both coasts! WHOO-HOO!! (not to leave out anyone in the middle of course - whoo hoo to you too!)
See! I kept telling people "dark gray" would be back as a popular choice, especially with that cool green tint. I guess that means it's time to finally post a photo of my first car... which just happened to be a dark gray hatchback.
Not to dissapoint you bucket girl, but there is no HOV allowance in MD for hybrids and you can only drive in the VA HOV lanes with special VA tags. I live in Bethesda, so I can never drive in the HOVs alone
:Wth: !! And let me guess - it costs money to buy the special VA tags. Oh well - you know as well as I do that getting into the city can really suck. Better to drive in the HOV with tags than none at all. I hope you don't have to commute too far in the mornings without an HOV lane.
Tell me about it! I only head into foggy bottom 2 times a week, so it is not too bad. I only have to go to chevy chase the rest of the week. I even changed my schedule so that I could leave home later to only hit the tail end of rush hour. I used to sit for over and hour and a half to go seven miles!!!! :guns: After a year of that I changed my schedule. I was planning on taking a job off 66 on VA till I found out about the HOV restrictions. I turned it down. I think i would kill myself if I had to sit on 66 everyday! :cussing:
Are you sure you need special tags for the VA HOV-3 lanes? We have used them in the past not knowing this is a requirement. I was also on the VA DOT site today and it didn't seem to mention special tags anywhere... We had 4 people in our car so I assumed we were safe.
If you have over 3 people you are fine...if you are a single person in a hybrid you need special "clean fuel vehicle tags" to drive in HOV.
