Hello guys, my friend is buying a prius need very quick help, the problem is it has the navi system but its in japanese, i try to change it to english but i cant, so is there any way to change it into english ??? thank you, suren
Since no one else seems to want to answer this, I will try. While I do not know the specific languages that are available on the local DVD Navigation disks made available in your region, I know that the software which drive the NAVI system is contained on the disk. This is at least the case in the U.S. and Canadian Prii. That said, I've also heard evidence on this blog that some Euro (and possibly) Asian market Prii have a HD disk based system, and would think that those would allow you to change the language on the screen. Assuming that your friend is not buying this from dealer, could a Japanese friend come over and help him change it (or the seller, who I am assuming speaks Japanese, as his car was programmed that way?
thank you very much for replying , i'm from Sri Lanka, and the car is imported from japan. so you are saying the interface can be changed just by a option/setting or by loading DVD ??, in the prius you have in usa, does it have multiple languages, like Spanish, English, etc... , if so , i have the 2010 prius manual i got from priuschat, in that book is it there??, like how to change languages ?? thank you, suren
hi suren, I am also from Sri Lanka. were you able to load the map of Sri Lanka into your prius? before changing the language, i think we should install the local map into the system. how do you do that? same problem here... thanks..
