Let's talk about some car commercials that we like but that don't warrant a thread by themselves. It doesn't matter to me whether I actually like the vehicle or the company... I'll start. I liked this ad when it first came out. Some people really liked even though I just thought it was ok.
I can't quite decide between the Nissan ad for independent front suspension, or the Toyota one for air conditioning.
Maxima and Corvette ads I liked these two since I owned a Maxima of this generation and really liked the power. They released a version of the 2nd one w/an 02 or 03 Maxima which had a bigger hamburger logo on the grille and the "Altezza" (silver ringed) taillights. Long ago, a friend of mine made me aware of one his favorites of all time. Here's one that I really liked. This is one of the few Chevys I actually like.
What's so great about this commercial? Note how they don't actually give a clear view of it because they know if they did, nobody would buy one. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CgmOwr-wBeA]YouTube - Pontiac Aztek Commercial (2000)[/ame]
The "Made in Detroit" ad by Chrysler was the most searched item on Google after the Super Bowl, even though it didn't make the annual Top 10 SB commercials. Despite its 2 minute length, it is a well done ad with a powerful message that will be studied by Marketing professionals and students for a long time.
Not sure what you mean, but ads like that are not meant to sell a particular product per se, but more to build a halo around a brand. This one in particular aimed to elicit certain emotions from the viewer, namely, patriotism and sympathy for the American "can do" attitude.
OK, this is a beer commercial, and doesn't even have a car in it, but it's still pretty cool. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qXa9oqKL6E"]Raaaaay Neeeeeer Beeeerrrrr[/ame]
I like the "Imported from Detroit" ads but won't buy anything from Chrysler so they do work up to a point.
