Assistance buying

    2011 prius model V fully loaded for $34k

    Dealer offered lease $668/per month
    @5% apr
    $17k at the ballon payment

    Trade-in $7800
    amount owed $$10.8k

    Given my credit score is sub par and I am not approved for financing I really want to become apart of the Prius family. Not to mentioned I make really good money and can afford the monthly payment.

    Pros:
    I have to drive up from Groton, CT to Rhode island then onto Washington state and I do not have room to fit all of my things in my current car.
    350z needs about $1750-2500 of work which I don't want to pay for.

    What should I do?

    Fix your present car. Drive it while you save up the entire purchase price of a better one.

    The heck you doing buying a Prius V at these kind of prices with bad credit?

    I got a Prius II last year at under $23k. What are you thinking about?
    Too bad. You're paying for it, whether now in cash or by lost value on a trade-in.
    Did I really just read that you're looking to get rid of a two seater for a Prius in part to make a single move easier? Have it shipped up or get a hitch for your Nissan and a tiny trailer from Uhaul.

    I could go for a cheaper Prius, say a Prius III or II, between $5-8 cheaper, but I'm over my 350z and I have a few thousand to out down towards a new car. Also, I just shipped my car from the west coast.

    I can't help on the lease and payment stuff but the 350Z only is rated for (IIRC) 6.8 cubic feet of cargo room and it is very limited, esp. due to the strut bar in the back being in the way.

    If the OP's Z is a stick shift, it's not really a great idea to tow with that.

    I'd also hate to drive my Z such a long distance. On my 04 Z, the ride is very harsh and bouncy. I think my back and butt would be killing me after a cross country drive in it.

    I don't lease my cars and owe nothing on both of mine. If the OP's credit isn't great, it suggests to me that money might be a bit tight, so if going for the Prius, I'd recommend getting a cheaper model and/or w/fewer options.
