    This is a Band-Aid, period ..... Do it right and sand the emblem down good, then paint it, then clear coat ... A Body Shop even better.

    Plasti-DipShit is rigging it, a half nice person cheap way to make something better... if you're gonna be a Bear, be a Grizzly.

    Please guys ... I expected more form the so called " experts " here.

    In that case, why DIY when you can spend $300+ and get black chrome ones...

    Yup yup.

    By the way, I washed my car today and the plastidip withstood the high power hose and soap. Just be a little gentle when you dry. :) I'm guessing durability won't be an issue with this stuff.

    Remember how it was kind of gray and had a orange peel texture yesterday? Well today it's completely smooth and black like the rubber on a golf club handle.

    Tightwad or not, if you placed 2 identical Priuses in front of me where only one had plastidipped emblems, and you told me to pick one, I would choose the one with the plastidipped emblems.

    I never said Plastidip was for everyone. I wanted to try it and now I happen to love it! :D

    I like it. I used it on the dash panels of my WRX. I thought it was awesome. And I blacked out all my emblems on my Prius, not with plasti coat just painted them black.

    Good job Mac! Might do this one soon, maybe this weekend when we get that 2-3 days break from the rain...or snow. (hahah)

    Ray66, way to fit in with the tightwads. Don't be such an outlier.

    I wanted to give everyone an update on this. Today I decided to remove the black plastidip from the middle of my emblem, which some of you may remember, I left on when I first did this mod about 4 months ago. The look just wasn't growing on me. During this process it was crucial that I;
    1. Not peel off plastidip coating on the emblem - otherwise I'd have to re-spray it.
    2. Most importantly, not scratch any part of my paint.

    I started each section by using my fingernail to lightly scrape up an edge of the coat and then working towards corners with the assistance of tweezers. The key was to remove the section in one piece so that the edges lift like magic.

    Here's my last section:

    I am happy to say everything came off without a hitch. The plastidip peeled off my paint as easily as the day I applied it. It's truly a testament to the durability and consistency of this product.

    Done. Yay! Now this I like better;
