Yeah there are plenty around here... and they're definitely not their dad's car. (Of course it's most likely their dad's money they just blew on it)

Just pass by the SF Toyota Dealership on Van Ness. Saw a 3rd Gen Prius with those same wheels. I think it was white. Not sure it's the Plus but maybe that's a display car for luring in orders. The pictures didn't do the car justice. It's looks so much nicer in the showroom. I don't think it's deserves the "Plus" useless it has a more power electric motor.
This upcoming Plus package should be called "Aero" or "Air."
    Proposal for more packages:
"Turbo" = need I say more...
    "Diesel" Hybrid and Why not?
    "Vegan" = Biodiesel Hybrid

Lastly, Toyota should stop mixing letters and symbols for packages and models.
    It's getting confusing.
"Prius V" could mean 2011 Prius with package 5 or 2012 Prius v(van)
"Prius Plus" could mean 2011 Prius with Plus Package or 2012 Prius + for JP/EU

I'm not much into modding cars but, from the pics at http://priuschat.com/forums/prius-h...s-plus-performance-test-run-campaign-pix.html, I like the wheels better than the stock 15" or 17" wheels.
    I'd like the above too.

How about some improvements to acceleration, namely more power, such as via forced induction or going back to Otto cycle? Even if its mileage got to CT 200h level or even down to CR-Z level, I think there'd be a market if the acceleration were better than the CR-Z. I think wishing for NAH class acceleration is wishful thinking unless they swapped it w/the engine from the Camry (non-hybrid or HyCam).

Ah, if it were only that simple. Unfortunately we don't operate on anything close to a blank slate when it comes to naming.

Take the US. Remember 95+% of consumers in the US are not going to shop across national boundaries. So for most people - again, not PCers - they will only have to learn US-centric naming.

Yes we had to replace the Roman Numerals. Assume that's in the past. If you start using the new Two, Three, Four, Five nomenclature as we plan to do moving forward, it's not that hard:
    • Prius is the Family brand name
    • Individual models are Prius, Prius v, Prius Plug-in, and ultimately a model based on the Prius c Concept
    • The spelled out number indicates the "trim" level
    • We have package codes and names (e.g. Advanced Technology) and will continue to add new ones (e.g. PLUS Performance) in the future
At the end of the day, it boils down to this. No matter what Family car you drive, when someone asks you what you drive, you can simply say it's a "Prius".

So why a different name for the v in Europe? Prius+ is a cool name, I must admit. But now it can be confused with the Plus Performance package...

True, but what happens if you come out with, say, a model that's smaller than Prius?

Prius team, I am one of the few that actually interested in the plus performance team. I jus stopped by my dealership (Toyota of northwest Arkansas) and ask about it. First the parts guy doesn't know anything about it then he goes to the GM, the GM gave him a booklet and he found that in the system HOWEVER he said I am NOT able to have that package ordered because the package is for new car built in ONLY. He said for existing Prius we have to wait til 2012 to order that!!!!!! Is he telling me the truth?? So our existing Prius will not be able to order the kit now????

    Hi Waiwaiet,

Well, I'm afraid I don't have an answer you're going to like.

The PLUS Performance package is factory-installed option in limited quantities. It has to be ordered with a new vehicle. At some point in the future, we may offer this as a dealer-installed option, but it's not available for retrofitting already-sold vehicles at this time.

Doug always has good answers... because they are correct.

doesn't his seem normal for toyota... they tend to always release production versions before the aftermarket crowd is fed.... a TRD version of everything before you get aftermarket trd equipment.... etc.. etc?

Look for it toward the end of June/early July. Ask your dealer for accessory code S1.

Spwolf, I was understood at the same way......and probably most people did too......

But again....as we were talking about is it worth to install the package, Doug did not say it is for NEW car only....

You guys are right, that's my bad as I did not read your references to "kit" correctly (e.g., as after-purchase install). Really sorry for the confusion.
