I'm picking a black Prius IV w/ navigation tomorrow morning! It's funny I'm 6'3 and never really considered a Prius until I happened to get stuck (initial thought) renting one this past summer. I work in television and had to direct a shoot in San Diego (SUV needed repairs), I had a film crew actually pile in for a couple of beauty shots around the coast one morning. Long story short, they liked it, I was amazed at the room with a full car. I absolutely loved driving it and I got 688 miles on that particular tank of gas. Amazing! The funniest thing about this past two months; I started talking, perhaps even preaching about buying a Prius to friends and co-workers. So, before I finally made the leap myself, our cameraman, reporter, another producer, production assistant, friend, and receptionist, even a friend of mine all beat me to the punch. Our network has officially gone green! I'll be going from 15 mpg to Prius heaven! Thanks for letting me ramble. Cheers!
That is awesome =). I will probably be buying mine a month or two and i have not been able to sleep in months haha . I keep thinking over the MPG gains and options i could get along with how nice the Five Axis S6-F rims will look on it . Let us know how it drives when you get it! Give us some feedback so people can use it towards their next purchase ( like myself!) OH! and if you dont mind come back and let me know how much you paid along with all the details. I live in Tujunga and i am pretty close to you. I want to know how nice of a deal you got price wise so i know where to go for my purchase! Please give us an update when you pick up the beauty ! Enjoy!
I bought mine just a few weeks ago. I travel a lot for work and love how the car drives. Congrats and Enjoy!
While on the subject of Prius purchase euphoria, we will be picking up our second Prius on Tuesday. We purchased our 2010 Prius V/ATP in October and we have grown to love it. I was very concerend about how it would perform in snow and how much room there was for luggage on long road trips. Our concerns were allayed by driving around in one of the worst New England winters in years and by taking a 3200 mile roadtrip to 3 different locations in Florida over the last 3 weeks. We were able to carry 2 sets of golf clubs, two collapsible golf carts, two large overstuffed American tourister suitcases, a cooler, two pillows, a computer bag and a canvas travel bag. Everything fit with relative ease and I was even able to have a clear view of the road behind me. When we got home we decided it was time to look for a Prius for my wife and replace our 18MPG 2006 Sienna XLE. We decided that a Prius IV would work for her as she liked all the ammenities of the V (door locks, seat heater, nav system, leather, etc.) but didn't need the V's ATP. I wasn't planning on moving this quickly but we found a Toyota Certified Pearl white 2010 IV with 12K miles. It was the dealer's loaner/demo/lease unit and it was spotless. We jumped on it and got a great deal since it had been sitting on his lot for over 3 months. As this group had pointed out, the IV provides a smoother ride and better gas mileage than the V. We got 53.5 MPG on our 50 mile test drive. After commiting to the deal there was one last van remorse issue to deal with. When we fly on vacation we take two large suitcases, two hard cases for the golf clubs and carry-on stuff. Would this all fit while opening the 40 back seat to make room for the 2 of us and whoever drives us to the airport? The answer is a resounding YES! The two hard cases fit side by side over the collapsed 60 rear seat. The real big American Tourister fits over the hard cases and the real surprise was that thanks to the collapsible headrest on the rear seat the second large suitcase fits standing up behind the front passenger seat. That leaves all the room behind the 40 seat for carry-on. So much for needing the van. Now all I need to do is remember how to program Homelink to open the garage door.
Congrats, Factorial! Welcome to the club. I got my silver misty IV 6 weeks ago. I love this car! Please take pics and do share with us.
Congrats!! Love to read stories like yours. I never considered owning a Prius either until I drove my sister's GII from Dayton to Boston. I was hooked after that!
Congratulations! I have had a mine for a year and a month now. It has worked well so far, getting between 48-51 mpg just as advertised! Hope you enjoy your new ride!
I like ours. If my wife gave the ok I'd probably go to that ultimate in patheticness, owning two vehicles the same. I'd get another 2010. The car isn't flashy, it's not fast, but every time I drive it I just cannot help but marvel at its technological prowess. It is as close to transportation perfection (notice I didn't say performance) as any car has ever been. It's like the distillation of utility in one package. When I drive our other car every time I brake and the pads get warm I die a little inside.
