I read "The Shining". If you've got it? You don't want it anyway. Sooner or later, creepy twins ask you to play with them, while a river of blood fills the hallway. If The Prius has lost it's shine...I'll just say REDRUM! and leave it at that....
So with the Canadian dollar actually worth more than the american dollar, why are we paying $28000 and the americans paying $5000 LESS? If the dollar is so close, would not the cost be closer than 5 grand?
I suspect all car sales in Canada could be down, not just Prius which is a niche market. As gas prices continue to rise, so will Prius interest as well as other hybrid/electric vehicles. On the upside, if Prius sales are down, this may be a good time in Canada to buy a Prius!
It wouldn't seem so per: http://www.auto123.com/en/news/car-news/january-2011-sales?artid=127512 Canada Auto Sales By Brand - January 2011 - GOOD CAR BAD CAR UPDATE 2-Strong start to the year for Canada auto sales | Reuters http://www.cbc.ca/money/story/2011/02/01/january-auto-sales.html?ref=rss (This is the first time I've searched for Canadian overall auto sales...)
Maybe it's because Canada has the 2nd biggest oil reserve in the world, next to the Saudis. Perhaps some don't care how much gas/oil we guzzle because we have lots of it? Who knows
Here in NS, at least in Antigonish, where we have a University, it seems every new Prius I see has the fog lights, so I guess it's safe to say we like the Touring or Technology packages.
Closer to a quart and a gulp.... There's an advantage to selling gas by the litre.......you tend not to notice how much the stuff is costing you until you get finished filling up your tank. 45 liters for a fill-up??!!
Not sure but we sure have a pretty one-sided distribution of population in Canada... something like 80 or 90% lives with 100km of the US border Cost has something to do with it too. We prefer smaller, cheaper cars. Corollas, Mazda3s and Civics and in Quebec, Elantras. In the prairie provinces, it'll be RAM, F-Series and Silverados mostly b/c it's industry-based and they have money flowing from the oil wells so fuel price be damned, they're buying the biggest truck they can afford. Only the Touring package has foglights. If you're talking about the Gen 2, all packages except the base model has foglights.
Well i think you also have to take consideration that the 2011 Prius just barely got into dealership while the 2010 was already available for 6 months at this time last year...... My dealer only has one Prius on the lot, a blue 2011 base model and huge dealership doesnt have really more on their lot also!
Watched video of movie 'Money' with Michael Douglas and Shia La beouf (sp?) ...... a scene or two with La B. and his lady in a red '10.
with oil a over $91 a barrel I guess it will not be long until the price of gas is at $1.30/l and sales will take off again
