I would like the doors to stay locked when I going into park. I followed all the steps as outlined in a post about this. no matter what method I follow, the doors always unlock when I go into park. I tried all 4 methods. when I do the routine, the doors will lock then unlock themselves so I know it took. I am going to guess that the option I want is the "doors unlock when driver door open"
I know you're reading the manual, so follow the instructions but think in terms of "cancelling" the current mode by going through the motions, then "enable" the mode you want by going through those instructions. That had me stumped on another Toyota product until I figured it out. It really takes two actions rather than one. Not intuitive nor explained well in the manuals.
