Has anyone had a problem removing th 10mm bolt on the turn light to install the fog lights? I was installing today and the rear plastic housing where the bolt is built into sheared off as the ratchet twisted
HI ADAMJAY !!! I'm sorry to hear about you mishap during installation. It is very easy to over torque the screws and thus causing it to be sheared off. I noticed that you are in Los Angeles. I am located in Lakewood a suburb of Los Angeles. If you need an extra turn light housing, I would be more than happy to let you have mine for free as I have a different signal housing that I am currently using. Please PM me for contact information Hope this helps !!! Rodney
PM sent... The problem was when trying to remove the 10mm bolt on the get go. Now I am stuck trying to figure out how to remove the broken plstic with the bolt still attached and the nut on the other side of the bumper skin. Where these over torqued from the factory? I am worried the same will happen when trying to remove the other side.
HEY ADAMJAY !!! PM-REPLIED !!! For those that may have concerns regarding this DIY road block, I would suggest spraying some WD-40 on the bolt (indicated in the Red Circle below) and where it contacts the housing, let it sit for a couple of minutes then slowly un-screw the bolt paying close attention to the progress. Because of the location of the bolt, it is prone to exposure of debris and heat, so it may be lodged a bit !!! Just take your time, pay close attention and ... Hope this helps !!! Rodney
