I would ask since he no longer has a Prius, why is he wasting his time posting here? I certainly wouldn't waste my time here if I didn't have one. I think you hit the cognitive dissonance idea dead on. evpv, get a life, and move on. No one cares what you think.

As a self-proclaimed hero of logic and reasoning, I'm surprised you are keeping at this, since it seems trivial for one person to bring along a friend for the occasion. I have no interest in this petty argument whatsoever, but suggesting that 32k meet two random strangers as 'proof' that evpv and socalev are actually different people is just silly.

Which is why a chart showing #s of complaints by brand is useless without knowing from what dates those complaints were collected as well as other supporting information like the average age of drivers for those brands. I see a lot of old people driving Toyotas...

That aside, I agree. It is VERY interesting...

    Au Contraire!!!
Every time evpv gets into a furball with the Prileaders on this forum it lasts for 33 some odd pages worth of cat fighting until one of the mods stumbles in and closes down the thread.
Actually...it's somewhat entertaining in a Jerry Springer kinda way.
How many different kinds of ways can you express:
    "Yes it is...."
    "No it ain't..."
    "Is too...."
    "Is NOT!..."

See you in another 20 posts......

do you think i actually want to spend my time meeting 32K colors?

The point is he post all of this misinformation, without any thought that what happens when you all find out that he doesn't know what the heck he is talking about.

Hopefully after he meets evpv and me, at a minimum he will think before he posts up further delusional bs because he actually is risking a lot of embarrassment to this forum. At a maximum if he were a real man he would come on this board and admit he made a mistake, and apologize for all of his incorrect accusations.

I suppose since he is not responding he will continue to post his theory as fact and without further thought of the epic fail thread that will eventually be his destiny.

I was mulling this over today too. While I have no doubt that certain media organizations are more prone to print negative Toyota "news," and the Detroit auto companies no doubt used their publicity mechanisms to keep up the drum roll, I think another dynamic is also at play here: Certain kinds of news feed upon themselves naturally in a positive feedback loop, or with very little outside help. Two years ago a Ford driver that lurched into his garage door would mutter to himself "I must have done something stupid" and not pursue the matter, but a Toyota driver would remember that authorities are testing his car manufacturer for SUA manufacturing defects, and will take the time to file a report or contact a sleaze lawyer. Perhaps as a good citizen, perhaps in hope of deflecting blame and damages.

It becomes a snowball, and as Audi found out the last time SUA was big news, it can be very hard to stop.

O.K., point taken. No one cares, but everyone likes poking him with a stick to see what happens!

I think you are missing the point. Just because 32k meets a person who says "I am socalEV" does not make that person you.

    Try this out:

    "I, Sagebrush, am also SocalEV."
    Am I you ?

Are you convinced by my lie ?

    bisco,

so, now you are doing the name calling? I am a negative troll. how do you figure? I am trying to learn everything i can about a car i'm interested in purchasing. however i have gotten distracted with 32k colors name calling and speculation. the good news if you think about it is his latest speculation about me and user evpv are all black and white.. we want to meet so he can report back to you whether he was right or wrong

in the last 6 weeks i have been spent a lot of time researching the prius. I have read a lot of info in the technical forums as well as test driven a prius 4. To be honest i also have driven a volt. I am currently deciding which vehicle best meets our needs.

I did post up the link to the insurance companies suing toyota, but that was because i thought it would be of interest to all of us. Not because i thought that the minority of overly defensive prius owners (you, 32k colors and engineer) would be offended.

What have i said negative about the prius?

I do find members like you, who is eager to call people trolls (without knowing what brings us to the site), 32K colors, who is willing to speculate on who people are employed by or their profession. And also to theorize that different members are the same person .

I would ask that you think about this for a second as the reality is you and 32K colors who are the true trolls of the site. In your minds you think you are the prius posse or defenders of all things prius. The reality is your troll labeling, namecalling and 32K colors wild accusations beyond troll that are really disrupting the wonderful information exchange that could otherwise take place on this site.

i am offering 32k colors the opportunity to meet me and evpv is doing the same so that he can provide information to 32K colors so that perhaps he will think before the next time he calls names or makes further accusations to future people that visit this site.

if safety weren't a concern for 32K colors (which i tried to minimize for him by offering to meet at a place of his choosing or a police station and tell him that we want to buy him a drink)... why wouldn't he meet with us and then post up a picture of the three of us and his findings? He is eager to post findings isn't he. (being a researcher by trade and all)

I will tell you why this meeting with 32k colors will never happen. I wont happen because he is a coward and only comfortable posting up wild accusations behind his keyboard.

I will eat my words and retract coward if he will meet up and post the truth and his actual findings online for you all to see.

    the choice is his..

Don't portray me as a victim of anything. I tried a Prius and didn't like it. I viewed it as a learning experience. It's just a car to me, not a monolith like it is for many of you.

So I sold the Prius and bought a new car that's more luxurious, faster, bigger, handles better, stops better, safer, quieter, etc. And it costs me less each year to own, even when you factor in gas mileage. So I'm happy.

Since the whole Unintended Acceleration situation was unfolding I wanted to contribute a much-needed counterpoint to the blind Prius worshippers point of view. I'll be moving on from PriusChat soon enough. The forum for my new car is much more normal and friendly. They don't call anyone who complains a Troll. They don't tell people to sell their car. They don't tell people to go away.

    i sound disingenuous now
well 32k colors thought i sounded like a lawyer
    or an insurance company person
or that i sounded like i was evpv

so really that is all you have.. name calling?

you are a hypocrite, because your last post was the definition of what you just called me disingenuous.

please stop posting for a second before you self destruct
