Hello, I keep seeing dark gray Prii around (not as many as silver ones) Gray is not listed in the list of 2005 colors on the Toyota web site. Are they 2004 models? thanks -Adrian
I suspect you are seeing Tideland Pearl - which is SO NOT green.....and happens to be the color I have (wanted driftwood.....didn't want the longer wait / options were right).
Yes, it's Tideland Pearl, a mildly dark- greenish gray (and a subject of controversy itself!) that looks very different in the shade and in the sun. It became available in '04 and continued in '05. It's being discontinued in '06 in favor of "magnetic gray".
Thanks. That's very bizarre. It looks pretty gray to me. Not even close green. Are we talking about the same color? oh well, -Adrian
Actually, replaced in favour of Silver Pine Mica. Yep, that's the "grey" we're talking about. The green part will show itself eventually under the right conditions
It is defiantly the chameleon color of the Prius and I for one am sorry to see it go. It changes with different light. The paint chips do not do it justice at all.
Had my Tideland Pearl since August., and it's never been anything but a grey car. Matter of fact, this is the first I knew it's supposed to be anything but grey. Has anybody ever seen green in one? What light conditions are supposed to make it look green? treichard ---------------------- '05 Tideland Pearl #6
