Picked up my 2010 Prius tonight. I dont see any easy way of running a cable from the aux jack out of the arm rest. Is there any way to do it without leaving the arm rest door slightly open?
I asked the same question a few days ago ( except I was looking for power to my phone, not USB ), and didn't get much help. I guess there are only three of us looking to get a wire out of the armrest!
Are you talking about moving the AUX jack out of the armrest or making a hole in the armrest to run the cable out through? Is there a thread or link you could send me to that discusses this? Thanks.
A while back somebody posted install instructions for the iPod/USB connector kit, which included instructions for removing the center armrest console. That should give you some ideas. Try a search for the thread.
Their is a small slit on the right hand of the armrest which should allow a cable to run through with the consol closed. Jim
I noticed tonight that my armrest closes and latches without binding on my audio cable. Didn't look for the notch/slit/whatever; it just does. I own a Dremel tool (well, technically, my wife does), but I've learned over the years that it buggers more things than it fixes.
