Just got what I think was a great deal. Prius III w/ navi for 23,818 plus tax, tags, freight. Got .9% financing and a fair trade in too.

Traded in my 2007 Prius II. Love my new beach sand with pin striping. The bluetooth phone is great! Too bad it's snowing today--I don't want to pull it out of the garage :(

How many miles on your trade-in and what did the dealer show you for trade allowance? If I'm prying too much, don't answer; it's okay. I'm asking because a lot of PriusChat members ask what they should pay for used Prius. Your financing rate is fabulous. Congrats, again!

    Happy Motoring,

    Tom

Blue Ribbon Metallic with Sunroof/solar panel and nav package.

The Speed had 8,000 miles, got 19k for it. And paid 26k for
    the Prius at .9% financing.

Thanks for the update. sorry, but I misread your trade-in. I thought you traded a used Prius, but I see it was a Mazda.

    Happy Motoring,

I traded my 2007 Prius II for $10,000. It had 49,000 miles and had been in an accident.

Is that 0.9% financing? Here in Switzerland I got 1.9% financing and consider that a great deal - but if you Americans are getting under 1% then I am moving to Florida.

Yes, 0.9% financing, but don't move to Florida, Switzerland is so much nicer ;)

Frequently, automakers (esp. American) will offer very low interest loans, as low as 0% on some models, as an incentive. They'll usually offer the choice of the low interest loan or a cash rebate/incentive.

Put in a US zip code in the URLs below and look at some of the incentives.
    Incentives and Rebates
New Car Rebates, Cash Back, Special Financing & Lease Rates

Maybe you should move to the US. I don't know what your salaries are like but when I was in Switzerland recently (on a tour of Europe), I was blown away by the INSANELY high prices (to an American) at Starbucks, probably due to the strong Swiss franc/weak dollar. For instance, a cup of tea there was over 5 francs, to start. Drinks like a tall cafe mocha were >7 francs.

    5 Swiss francs = $5.28 USD
    7 Swiss francs = $7.40 USD

Over here, Starbucks tea starts at just under $2 and a tall cafe mocha would be in the high $2 or low $3 range.

True, I paid the equivalent of $8 U.S. for a bottle of water in Geneva last summer, but the air was so clean and the views were incredible! Switzerland has one of the highest, if not the highest, per capita in the World, so it just seems expensive to the rest of us

:focus: The U.S. often offers discounted interest rates or a rebate for cars they are trying to get rid of to make way for the latest model. They offer 0.9% on the 2010s, but not the 2011s which are on the market in most U.S. regions.

Yes, but sometimes they do it on current model year vehicles too. See Seattle Tacoma Area Nissan Dealers -$1,750 Total Savings - $1,275 Total Savings - $12,960 Net Suggested Price - Nissan USA and Local New Car Incentives, Rebates, Interest Rates by Make & Model, for example. There are a # of 0% financing offers. Nissan's doing a bunch on 2011 models. (I just saw an ad on TV about it too.)
