I need 1 or 2 NiMH 7.2 modules #74401-47010 for my 01 Prius. Any ideas other than my Toyota parts dealer because when he placed the order for me it was unavailable? DO NOT ATTEMPT TO WORK INSIDE MAIN BATTERY PACK UNLESS YOU ARE EXPERIENCED IN DC AND AC HIGH VOLTAGE ELECTRICITY. Joe
The modules are not available from Toyota for individual replacement, even for the dealer techs. Toyota policy is to replace the entire pack to ensure that all the modules are matched. Find yourself a salvage battery and scavenge some modules. Wayne
Or find yourself a salvage battery and swap the whole thing in so that the modules will be properly matched. Otherwise it may work for a little while but the odd cells will become progressively farther out of balance with the rest of the pack. The only way to get around it is to condition the whole re-assembled pack with the Toyota special charger thing. But even then you would be dealing with cells of different age and condition so who knows if that would even be a long-term fix.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(bwilson4web @ Jul 30 2007, 02:24 PM) </div> I was unable to find any modules so I got a great deal on a HV pack for 250.00 installed it , cleaned the airflow sensor, cleared codes. Runs fine again. I am glad I was able to diagnose, test and repair the problems without the dealer involved. My local dealer stated recently" I've never heard of a HV battery going bad". This is why I did not give them the car to fix. Thank you everyone on Prius Chat for your communication postings. You all were my Toyota service dept. 49.5 mpg and happy Joe
