Yes, got it a couple weeks ago. As you obviously guessed, it's still been sitting in the box all this time although I did take it out of the box this past weekend just to give it a once over. The Kenwood is rated only at 35W continuous but it got consistently good reviews which was the final deciding factor. Of course, the $180 sale price didn't hurt either(regular is $249 on most sites). I just read Danny's post where he also placed his Kenwood in the hatch area and didn't mention any reduction in the bass. The Infinity Basslink has great reviews but it was just too big since I tend to use the rear trunk area for large things fairly often.

Anybody have a pic where they're putting the sub in the back? I'm a little confused as to where everybody is pointing to

Here is a good thread on the subject along with a picture of mine. I placed mine in the trunk under the floor board in the spare tire area.

what size sub is that? Is the entire set-up firmly anchored to the side?

Just finished the install yesterday. There was definitely a dramatic difference with the floor cover open and closed. Like Spidey said, the bass was unexpectedly better with it closed. I did have to set the sub phase on 180 though - not sure if this was due to the sub being within a closed space.

The reviews for this sub were very accurate. It doesn't make your car be heard down the block, but it was very enjoyable inside the car and really filled out the low frequency that the door speakers were sorely missing(I had the crossover set at about 80). The HU had a convenient gain setting specifically for the sub and that allowed me to turn down the level(about midway) on the sub to minimize distortion.

Glad that worked for you. I also have the phase switch on mine and will have to adjust it to see if there is a difference. Thanks for pointing that out.

Very nice job on the custom sub box install.
Can you share with us how you got the carpeting to match up so well? Any pics on technique used to install to existing location? Did you tap into the speakers or is this a mono sub install?

Well, all the credit goes to the local custom shop. They built the box and did the install. Im not to fluent in electronics so I'm not sure exactly whats going on in there.

I bought this Cadence ZRSW8 8-inch Low Profile Active Amplified Subwoofer from Amazon for $260/free shipping for my truck because I was concerned with all the bad/negative reviews on the similar bassboss systems. I placed it in the Prius to see how it would fit and took some pics. I have not hooked it up nor listened to it in the Prius so no reviews here. These photos are simply for an FYI basis as another buying option with a better, longer warranty.

Our Prius has the JBL system with sat so both front seats have some stock electronics all ready located under them but this woofer/amp would easily fit there for those with base sound systems. Please ignore the gold fish snacks (kidz, whatcha' gonna' do?)

This unit can be heard and felt from underneath that tray? Looks impressive. Comments?

Do you have specs of the system you went and how you made everything. I am quite interested in this setup.

Give me a like and I'll post pics

I just bought a 2010 with JBL Nav a few weeks ago. Just getting started.

Today I had Mr. K install a Proclip left mount iPhone 5 holder. Ran the audio line to a jack on the dashboard, then onto the center console aux input. The power was just tied in somewhere, as i don't like the usb audio connection. I usually run bluetooth, but the hard line sounds better.

Also Mr. K mounted a Kicker Hideaway 8" powered sub in the storage compartment above the spare tire. He wired it into the JBL amp under the passenger seat. I was surprised at how well it sounds with the stock system. Hopefully this is enough, because otherwise its a $2000 deal to put in some real sound.

If you need any custom work done in the west Los Angeles area, look up Mr. K. on Washington and Sepulveda. He has done a lot of work on my cars over the years, and it always works out, no matter what ideas I come up with. And he's cheap. 310-559-7123
