Fountain lady: texts, walks and falls into fountain; hires lawyer to sue? Does anyone else think this lady is an idiot?
The mall should offer to place signs in front of the fountain that say Watch Out Cathy, Here's The Fountain, If You Have Hit This Sign, STOP, You're About to Get Wet!. To show that they are sincere they could also place signs around benches, doorways, corners and even issue special reflective road crew vests for the mall's other patrons.
Sometimes you really need a STUPID person like this one to give you a really good REALITY check!! I hope she loses BIGTIME, and has to PAY ALL COSTS!!!
We all have done something stupid, or been embarrassed. We have all had people laugh at us. We have all laughed at ourselves. She should have enjoyed her 15 minutes of fame. I am sure she could have made some appearances on talk shows and had some fun with it. Or, if she doesn't like the attention, just don't say anything and let it fade away. My problem is the frivolous lawsuit.
Note that she's not suing because she fell into the fountain. She's suing because the mall security didn't help her, and released the video (though that release was likely unauthorized). Doesn't mean she has a case, of course.
i wonder what she'd be saying if she bumped into a little ol lady standing next to the fountain and knocked her in and drownded her.
I don't think the security is obligated to help dry her off. The only thing hurt was her pride. As for the video, its a public place. Anyone can take pictures or video of you in public. Your image is probably captured hundreds of times every single day. Nothing illegal about it.
Shut the fountain down, issue the name and address of this woman and her lawyers and let the local people decide
As I said, it doesn't mean she has a case. I was just correcting the misperception that she is suing because she fell.
She distinctly said in the article that she doesn't (although I believe that just slightly more than I believe those were surveyor's marks on Sarah Palin's map). The part I love - she complained nobody ran to help her. However, the video clearly shows her standing up and walking away! What was there to help?!?
