2010 II,III,IV,V options ?

    Agree, I have HID's on my one car and my wife had them on her 05 Prius and now just the halogens as does my Highlander Limited Hybrid. I like the whiter light and cut of on the HIDS and that's why I was wondering about the LED's. Going to go to the dealer later in the week to see a 2010 Prius V they have, but got disappointed in seeing they don't come standard with the solor roof, nor is even an option on the V. The wife absolutely loves it on her IV in the summer.

    I think that it is cheaper just to get aftermarket HIDs than to upgrade to a V.

    Same requirements, I like the backup camera (it is a must I think), I did end up getting solar roof though personally I could have done without it.

    The problem with retro fits is the existing lens is cut for the Halogen beam and you end up getting a lot of stray light and it shines into the on coming drivers. In addition the ones that come on the car, like the LEDS, have a leveling feature to keep the beam level and not bother on coming vehicles/drivers.

    I was specifically looking for a loaded V. I liked the larger tires, faster steering, tighter suspension, etc. But as much as i was looking forward to the Advanced Technology Package, once I started using it, I was totally sold.

    Once I got used to the DRCC (radar cruise control), I have been almost in love with that feature. I'd never buy another car which only has a standard cruise control. In fact, the other car in my houshold has a regular cruise control and when I drive it, I never use it anymore. My partner (who normally drives the other car) got so used to mine that he almost had an accident when he forgot that his cruise control did NOT slow him down as he closed in on another car.

    The lane keeper is a nice feature and makes driving a tad easier. it's very subtle, rather like adjusting the rudder trim on an airplane to help you thru curves on the highway.

    The parking assist feature is, to my mind, a show-off gimmick that I never use. It can only park your car if it can do it in one sweeping movement. If you have no trouble rocking into a tight spot, the parking assist won't help. It does, however, impress others when you demo it for them!

    I bought, today, a 2011 4, with the Solar Roof Package. Would have liked the 5, with the larger wheels and laser radar, but I've not had a car without a moon roof in 15 years, and I truly enjoy them. And the solar feature is cool. Since that wasn't available on the 5, 4 it was. It gives me the added benefit of being able to tell friends and family that I was frugal - didn't buy the top of the line....

    Leather, Nav (I actually like Toyota's Nav - same in wife's Sienna), heated seats - all required. I love wife's radar cruise, but can't have everything.

    I been driving HD trucks for the last 5 years, but drove an Accord Hybrid previously. The moon roof and solar cooling has to help not run the a/c as often here in Texas....

    NovaStu - you a pilot? You mentioned rudder. I fly a V35B Bonanza. Just curious....

    You do mean a 2010 correct? I was over looking yesterday and was told they are not even making the 2011's yet and production was still the 2010's.

    I looked at a 2010 V yesterday at the local dealer and liked it (used to my wife’s IV), but they were not to agreeable to deal on my 2008 Highlander Limited Hybrid and would only offer me $7.5K LESS than the KBB Trade Value :shocked: :crazy::blink:. I was quite surprised at that and am thinking that the new Toyotas are not holding their values very well. Love the Highlander, but if I double my mileage it will allow me more trips to my competition events around the country. An extra $900 in fuel savings would have meant a lot more events I could have planned on attending for sacrificing a little room and comfort conveniences. Oh well….. :noidea:

    Yeah, but, you're being screwed on your trade-in...not worth it. Remember, since you drive so much, then maybe having a bigger vehicle is a better thing...aka safer crashing into other vehicles vs. a small midsize car (Prius).

    Let's hope theres no crashing involved lol.

    I agree safer, more comfort, etc. but would have considered swapping if they were more realistic. Besides the new Prius V wagon should be out by the end of the summer and that has the new batteries and 50% more space inside. The dealer also said the 2011's had a lot of new features coming out. What 'a lot' means wasn't elaborated on.

    No - It's a 2011. We have quite a lot of them in Texas. A 2010 would have been $1k less. And from what I understand, would have been a IV instead of 4, silly as it is.

    I got the III with navigation and have loved it so far. I wasn't a fan of the leather on the seats. I would have liked the fog lights but I can always get that aftermarket.

    Interesting.... I thought they would be out, but here in the NE even on the Toyota site you can only spec a 2010 now.

    Bob - pull up any dealer site in the Dallas area and choose new car inventory - Prius. That's how I found what I wanted. Then called local dealer with VIN for negotiation.
