Had the chance but I walked away from a tan 05 #6 tonight that a dealer had a cancellation on today. He claimed the 1st one with the $$ was the new owner in spite of a waiting list he claimed to have. Nice guy! He also asked for an offer "to bring to my manager" since it was the end of the month, yahta, yahta. I said if he could come close to the 06 tax credit, I'd do it but told him not to deliver too many hybrids in december since most will wait till new year's for delivery.
How does that color look, been thinking of getting it (live in Phoenix) vs the silver Have not seen any color except the blue and red
Thanks it does look nice, I put that in as my first choice top of line (whatever that might be for arizona)
I've got the Tideland Pearl pkg 06 - bought it at Superstition Springs in Mesa. I'm curious which dealer you are going through. I haven't seen too many of my color in the area, but I ended up parking right next to my "twin" this week!
I just turned down a Prius too. Someone else bailed and everything was what I wanted ... except the delivery date. Like many others, I'm waiting for the tax credit. I did think about buying it and selling it once my '06 came in.
I had a very positive experience. I was told that they took a $500 refundable deposit and asked for $995 over MSRP, but when I stated that Big Two Toyota is selling at MSRP, they reconsidered and gave me the Pkg 6 at MSRP. Big Two, by the way, sells at MSRP, but asked for a $1000 deposit. Good luck with your deal!
I gave a CC number for a $500 deposit, but he has not run it. Says he does not need to. So I am in line for jan 06 no money out of pocket yet.
I like their approach. I cancelled my order with Big Two because despite the repeated assurances that they weren't cashing the check (the amount went from $500 to $1000 when I was talking to them, so I made sure to ask, because I don't tend to keep the big bucks in checking), they CASHED IT! I was livid! Then I had to wait the 10 days because I used a personal check, even though I proved that they had cashed it and cleared the funds. At SS, they were up front and suggested I use a CC because it was so simple to refund it should I change my mind or find another vehicle. Definately a much better experience all around, and I had been using Big Two for service since I moved to PHX a little over a year ago.
My dealer "suggested" I put $500 down, but I only gave them $200. I don't think any level of down payment is mandatory, at least not around here. On cashing it, I gave them a credit card (actually a debit card), and although I don't know if they withdrew the amount right away, they did give me a credit for it when I picked up the car.
Whatever, I have that color, I knew it's one of those colors, driftwood and desert are the same thing. Just like white is white. I personally wish they would just call it brown or champagne.
Dare I say blue and green...? Black's not bad but tired of black cars-3 now and seems like every car in NY that's not gray is black.
