Just bought a 2010 III and no problems or noise. Maybee yours is one of those one off's that is defective. Why dont your take it back to the dealer and have a service person drive with you and point out you issues.
As far as the noise is concern, people have different tolerance levels for that hum. We had a musician on here a while back and he/she could not stand it. I hear it but think it is rather cool sounding.
