Dice Problem

In 2007 I put a Dice in my Prius (2007 basic package). At first it worked fine with my 2004 20 gig iPod for, but about a year or so ago it started acting really weird. For example, when I first installed it I could scroll through my songs on the iPod’s control, get it to the playlist or artist I wanted and then control it from the steering wheel’s controls. But after a while my iPod would be locked when connected to the Dice and I would have to unplug it get to where I wanted it and the plug it back in. Then when I connected it would jump around from songs randomly (not in the playlist for example). Or when it was plugged in the steering wheel controls would not work and I could only control it from the iPod’s control. Also, when I first got it I could see the artist and name of the song on the dash display (under CD title), but now it will give the name of the song and display INC for the artist. I thought this was due to the old iPod so I got a new 160 classic recently, but the problem persists. I’m going to get in touch with the shop that installed it, but first wanted to see if anybody had any ideas about how to fix this problem.
