Summer tires

    Any comments on the Continental ProContact with EcoPlus Technology for the Gen III?
    Seems a good choice after reading Tire Rack's test results...
    Any other suggestions?
    My OEM Yokohama Avid's are gone at 30K miles. That is unacceptable treadwear for me...:mad:

    I replaced my Yoko Avid tires at about 10,000 miles or so. I than
    bought at Costco Michelin Energy Saver tires, 195x65x15.

    I rotate them at Costco every 5,000 miles, free of charge at Costco, and have all four tires inflated to 44psi max sidewall pressure as stated on the tire.

    I now have 31,000 miles on them, and I should have at least another 30,000 left.

    I got at leat 2-3 mpg more over the Yoko Avid tires. The Yoko Avid
    tires that I took off I put them on my 2003 VW Jetta Wagon TDI, as
    they are the same tire size.

    The Michelin are quieter, and seem to glide over the roadway.

    I never got more than 30000-40000 miles from OEM tires in various cars.
    I only have 3000 miles on my Prious so too early to comment on the Bridgestone Ecopia.

    What pressure did you run your Yoko's at?

    Varies... usually start at 42 psi and let them lose pressure until next rotation...

    Anything more than that and the ride becomes very uncomfortable...
