hey everyone, I just got my baby last tuesday! I'm loving it so far! Got it on lease to keep the monthly payments low, but probably gonna buy at the end of the lease. A little about myself- I'm 22, I study Photography at the University of Houston I commute to school and work as a photographer's assistant for Nathan Lindstrom Photography. My prius is a Gen3 PriusII with leather seats. It is Blue!
Where in Houston are you from? I'm from Webster... we should try to get some more Prius owners in the area and have a meet and greet
Blue seems to be a popular colour in Texas. Is the Prius a rare thing where you live? What has your friends reaction been to the car? How are you enjoying the smooth ride?
^ Actually from what I've seen there aren't really that many BRM Prii in Houston area. My friends absolutely love the color, as do I. The ride is amazing, I'm loving it so far!!
Welcome to the Forum! and nice pics! I see you have standard radio with CD player - could you please tell us how the FM radio performs? do you get some random noises (not that loud compared to the signal - mainly whizzy short noises) when moving the car, that will stop once you stop moving the car? Try it please on the strongest FM station in the area - you can select it using the AST function/button and selecting the number 1 station memorised after the scan. Thanks!
Congrats and welcome to PriusChat. I'm certain your Blue Baby there in Houston will give you years of enjoyment, even though Barcelona Red is the best color ever! Thanks Tom, actually I have not come up with a name for it yet, but I'm not the kinda guy that names things lol, try not to get too attached in case something happens you know? lol @Pakitt I tested the radio today and I did not hear any whizzing sounds... seems to be working fine
Just got my Prius in blue.....Love it. Only issue is the mobile phone keeps disconnecting from the bluetooth, but thats a minor issue. Love your pictures. Have fun
That's interesting - if this is really the case (and you were not just lucky being in a super good reception area), then it might be that they finally fixed the FM radio problem (which BTW presents itself, at least in my case, also in good reception areas)? There is a whole, long thread about FM noise problems here. Thanks again for checking.
