Mine's done, along with the gas pedal. I was worried about how the pedal would look (like it really matters!) and my concern was justified. Ugly chop job. Don't really see how it could be any better but it ain't pretty.
I doubt I'll ever know the difference with the pump, but glad it was a free fix.

I was hesitant about getting my pedal done and the usual resulting mess the dealer makes when they work on stuff but my pedal mod done by my dealer came out pretty good to my astonishment. They cut about an inch off the bottom of the pedal and kinda squared it off. At least they made an attempt to finese it alittle. Feels fine. I don't notice any difference with the foot.

What does your pedal look like?

I'm not sure why posters are reluctant to get the pedal mod done because if you go to the dealer for other service and refuse the pedal mod they make you sign a release. Can't come back and bitch if you plow into a car. It doesn't hurt anything to get it done and its free.

Now I did read one or two posts concerning people who said the dealer swiped there floor mats when they went to get the pedal mod done. Which I thought was odd since who would drive away if there car was now missing its floor mats? So I removed mine before visiting the dealer to circumvent that possibility.

I double stack my mats also. Have the original oem mat with secure holes and then put a cheap rubber one on top of that.

DOES anyone know what makes a "clucking" sound (sort of like a chicken) upon start up?

If you're getting the brake accumulator noise, I think that could be described as clucking. It's also been called "barking" here in the past. That noise isn't limited to startup, but in my experience, it's very intermittent. Certainly happens more in cold weather, but that's still no guarantee that it will occur. For example, I don't recall hearing the noise this morning, but had it making a lot of noise while in traffic last night.

The pump recall was a surprise since I don't read as many posts here as I used to. It had been making gurgling sounds for months so I jumped right on it. It sounds OK now so I'm relieved that any imminent failure has been avoided.

Now if only that dashboard recall would come along so I can use the top storage space again...

Your photo is exactly what my pedal looks like. How'd you get in my car? ;-)
