So I watched the new car DVD last night and the way they explained it, it made it sound like I had to disengage and engage the solar ventilation button each time I wanted to set it. Is there something wrong with just leaving the button always pushed in? BTW, the manual's Japanglish makes it REALLY easy to understand everything.
I've actually forgotten about the button. The system has been button-on all summer and was functioning everytime I reentered the car. Apparently activation is temperature sensitive making the button sort of redundant. I did turn if off just the other day because its use will be quite limited for the next few winter months here in mid America. But I don't see that it matters, on or off. Ya, the manual is a doosey.
It matters -- but nothing to with winter. Park near a building site, and you might want to avoid sucking too much dust into the filter
Now THAT makes sense. Under normal conditions, I would see no reason to turn it off. Obviously, it's not needed in winter north of the Mason-Dixon line.
Yeah, we turn ours off when we're parking in an area where we dont want the car to ingest foul odors or dust. Craig
