Re: Ugly is as ugly does <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Jonnycat26\";p=\"110147)</div> Now that was an awesome car, and quite a collector's item today. And not only did VW make something that looked completey and utterly different, but they had the guts to name it "Thing".[/b][/quote] I almost bought one in 1974. I thought they were cool. I didn't know that they were also death traps and unreliable. Instead, I bought a Rabbit new in 1975; a more practical car, but also cheaply constructed and not very reliable. I don't quite understand why or how German cars lost their quality edge, beginning in the mid 70's and continuing to the present.
Jonnycat26 and Jeff, I'll agree that the watch Thing was a bit different for it's time, but "unique", No. Watch the History Channel. The VW Thing is a reissue of a WWII German field car, their equivalent of the US "jeep". It even had the fold down windshield. Dave M
The German WWII field car was called the "Kübelwagen," which literally translated means "bucket car."
the Prius is the ugliest and so is the element.I actually think the aztec looks pretty cool though...
Yea right, the 9-7x was awsome and maaybe the malibu wasn't as good(but it still kicks Prius's nice person)
