I think he is referring to the one wire that comes out of the wire harness that you use the Bridge connector for the fog light switch wiring ~ Step 5.1 Remove tape from lower connector on ECU and locate BROWN wire. Use the bridge connector to connect RED wire to BROWN wire. You may need to cut RED wire to proper length.
Bartelby is correct. It says Brown wire but it is really a Tan wire. Anyone know what it goes to or is for? Thanks
Tapping the "brown wire" gives power to the switch. So when you turn on your parking lights, your switch is illuminated
Thanks Cloud. I knew it was to power the light in the switch but I did not know exactly what the brown wire controlled. So I can assume if I were to cut that wire (heaven forbid) I would just loose dash lights. Jerry
Find attached a copy of the 2010 Overall Electrical Drawing that I downloaded from this site. On page 11, where it shows the Fog Light connections, there is a brown wire that goes to a Rear Fog Light Relay. In the US, we do not have the rear fog lights, so it appears to me that we may be tapping in to this wire for the OEM fog light installations. If anyone knows anything different, please let me know. Thanks for that info jd. Thats what I was wondering. And thanks for the electrical drawing. I had no idea it was available. I love this forum and that there are so many knowledgable people to help answer questions. It sure makes things easier. Jerry
