Just a basic question. Has anyone thought to place the Prius Maintenance Manual online for reference. I started to upgrade my headlights this weekend to HID's. After removing a few panels over the radiator, then under the front bumper, then... It occured to me that a quick look at how to get access to the headlight bulbs, and space for the ignitors/ballast would have been the smarter approach. Thoughts? SUggestions?

    It is online at http://techinfo.toyota.com/

If you are asking why one of us don't put it online, it is because we would get sued. You can access it for $10 for 24 hours at the above address, a reasonable value. You can even download as much as you want for personal use later.

Unfortunately for Canadians like me, it's only available if you have a US address.

I'm in the same path for HID's. I also encounter the same problem. Any progress yet? :)

You probably need to replace the whole lamp assembly, since you also need the leveler and high beam servos.

DanMan. the HID that I will install are dual bulb, HID's for "low beam" and an extra pigytail halogen for High in the same socket with bi wiring.
But my little investigation onto the headlight assembly stopme after removing 2 10mm bolts and not caming out as spected for further analysis :(
