I bought my 2010 Prius last month. I financed $30,600 at 0.0% for 60 months.
    Options on the car:
    Solar roof w/ NAV
    Bluetooth
    JBL audio
    Dealer-installed alarm system
    Floor mats and cargo mat
And I extended my bumper-to-bumper warranty to 6 years because it only added like $20 a month to my payments and they're already high enough and I don't want to shell out extra money.

I probably paid a little bit on the higher end just based off what I'm seeing here, and I probably won't ever need that extra warranty, but I got 0% financing and a lot of peace of mind. Also, I went there expecting to buy the cheapest model available, but my salesman was nice and let me take a lot of test drives and play around with all the models and different features, so I decided to upgrade and spoil myself since this is my first brand new car in 9 years.

I still believe you did a pretty good deal given the conditions. Maybe you have not got the cheapest model, but with the benefits you've mentioned, the price is OK. To use it for many years without service.

I'm planning on purchasing a prius soon (hopefully this weekend). What do you guys think of this price? I'm not sure how much the paint protective film is...Toyota has it listed as $395.

I've been emailing other dealerships and there's some that a little lower in price but they either include tint and not the protective film or they don't include either options.

    Blizzard Pearl III (MSRP:$23,800)
    Add-ons:
    -Solar Package: $3,830
    -Special Paint: $220
    -Rear Bumper Applique: $69
-Carpet Floor Mats & Cargo Mat: $200
    -Window Tint: $495
    -Clear paint protective film: ???

    Total MSRP: $28,879
Dealer's Asking Price because of tint: $29,374

    Sale Price: $26,569
    Document Fee: $55
    State Tax: $2,196.48

Does it have NAV + rear backup camera? If yes, do it. If it at least has the NAV, do it. But if it doesn't have either, I'd try to work that in somewhere. I paid roughly the same as this but my taxes were a little higher here in NV. Also, I don't have the rear bumper applique or window tint. Lucky you :)

Seems a touch high if I may compare what I paid for my IV last week. My car is series IV Blizzard Pearl with Misty Gray leather and Solar Roof pkg. and 5 mats. With the IV you get leather, heated seats, bluetooth and some other goodies. No tint or protective film. High margin items??

My list was $32,060 including $760 delivery.

My purchase price was $26,901.59 inclusive of Toyota cash back of $1500....only ~$430 more than yours on a car with almost $3200 higher MSRP. I don't know if you have the cash-back where you are. Tax, tags and dealer processing fee of $389 was on top of that.

My 'out-the-door' price was $28235.25. I priced the car through USAA but something like Truecar or ZAG.com can do that for you and give you some added comfort in your transaction.

    Good luck...you'll love the car!

Vehicle came with cloth, but that was part of our negotations, heated leather added at dealer cost. They suppose to do that on Monday, mobile factory group comes to dealership and makes the switch. I think it cost me about $850.

Sounds a little strong to me,

I checked USAA buying which I think is the same as ZAP.
Best quote I found was $3900 under invoice, which would be over $5000 under MSRP, I got around $5600 under MSRP, I didn't really know the MSRP of the heated leather option I got throwed in. I hope this helps.

Something I found interesting, I got quoted about $2000 less if I didn't get/go with the 0% financing.
I got 2.5% with a total finance charge of about $1000.

The games the dealers play. I hate to vehicle shop.

am looking at a 2010 lll with nav, cargo and floor mats, rear bumper applique, wheel locks at a price of 24995. its against a trade in of my 2008 lexus 400h hybrid. dealer is offering 28k for lexus w 31.5k miles on it. so i would be walking out with a check for 3000 and a new car. this included '1000" cash rebate.
    how am i doing?

Yes I saw your post about your purchase and my jaw dropped! I wish I could get a IV around California for that price.

    DeanMac
What zip code did you use to get those prices?

I checked zip codes up and down California through USAA and found that southern California is a lot cheaper. In my area (95762), a blizzard III with solar and mats is shown at $25,902. In the Pasadena area (91030), the same configuration showed up as $25,074.

For some reason I was not able to change the incentives when I looked up southern California zip codes. I will be financing and they include the $1500 cash back automatically.

Would it be possible for a dealership in my area to price match a dealer in SoCal?

Thanks for the replies already very helpful!

I used 30110 zip and a dealer in Columbus GA was giving $3900 below invoice, I also found a dealer in Spartanburg SC giving $3600. Columbus is about 100 miles and Spartanburg about 150 miles from my home.
I took those quotes to a dealer closer to me and they matched the deal and sweetened the pie with the heated leather at cost. I also had written offers from about 8 more dealers, which showed a wide range in prices. I found it really helped me in doing my homework and having documents in hand. I did not tell the other dealers my best price, I just wanted bottom dollar from each one.

I started out going to get a IV, but when I realized I was going to pay about $2000 for the ionizer and auto dimming mirrows I went with the III and added the heated seats. There might been another option or two, but nothing I could not live without.

I think they are a bit high on the selling price, but then I don't know the actual trade value of your Lexus... If they are being generous on your trade, then it's probably a good deal. Check Kelly Blue Book, Edmunds, and NADA for the average Trade In Value for your car, if they are offering less than what they say, negotiate a bit harder. Remember the price they quote on the new car and the trade mean nothing, it's the difference that matters! In your case, the larger the difference the better because it's money in your pocket...

I just checked the dealerships in GA and wow they're prices are low but the inventory is low as well. I checked the Springfield Toyota dealership where seal2cc bought his and they have a IV with the same specs that I've been looking for in a III, but for the same price or even lower than the IIIs out here in CA! I sent an email requesting more information on this.
