What were your First upgrade or conversion desires?

First thing i did was tint my windows and get some dents and dings fixed. Hot Texas sun is hard on cars. I say more power to ya. Personalization is what makes your car yours.

 

I did the simple necessities first... All Weather Mat in the rear and window tint. Then I moved to convenience, Autodim Mirror w/Homelink, then safety, DRLs and Fog Lights. Next up is HID Low Beams, and then I'll start on the more luxury upgrades like leather seat covers and lower body trim. New wheels will probably wait till the tires need replacing...

Like Paul58, I did the simple things like installing Exact clear mats over the carpet mats for protection, then removing the plastic wheel covers for a better look. Then I installed the OEM Fog Light kit to replace the blanks below the headlights.

You already have the fog lights with the V so you will not need to worry about this one.

 

Nothing really yet, only a USB extender cable and a dual cigarette lighter socket for the console. I've only had my car for 3 months. (I'm not much of a mod'er..)

I may eventually put decent lightweight 15" rims and tires on to replace my 17"'s, and way down the road I plan something like a PHEV mod, but we're talking years for either of them.

Not much modding needed on a V! I wish I had been able to find a Blizzard White V w/Nav (no AT Pkg) when I was looking, it would have saved me a lot of mods! I still would have done the DRLs, All Weather Rear Mat and Window Tint, but other than that I'd of already had everything else I have added or plan on adding...

 

Heavy duty floor mats (how exciting) followed closely by window tinting (saved $175 locally over dealer/GST cost). Tinting plus solar package=heaven in south Texas. :rockon: Next I added my own "eye brow" tint to the windshield greatly reducing the use of visors.

 

What I have done so far...

All weather mats (front & back)

Interior & exterior LED

HID (not needed on V)

OEM fog light kit (not needed on V)

Footwell lights

OEM Rear Bumper Protector

Illuminated door sills (not needed on V)

 

That's one reason I chose a V, but the main mod I like is the AT package, that radar cruise control makes my commute so much more stress-free. I like the classic silver over the white because it shows dirt less and I'm lazy about washing cars.

And my V came with tinted windows too.

 

Yep, I liked the idea of the radar cruise control, just wasn't all that interested in the rest of the stuff in the AT package, and was too cheap to pay the premium they wanted for that package just to get the radar cruise control. My commute is all stop and go surface street in Atlanta, radar cruise control would be practically worthless anyway...

I figure by time I add all the goodies on my wish list I should have the equivilent of at least a IV w/Nav, and would have still paid less than what I could have purchased a IV w/Nav for to begin with! It's always all about the bottom line!

I added VentureShield to the entire front of the car and added the Prius shops OEM fog lights. Both have been great mods!

 

Due to my first Gen III being totaled, I've actually performed my upgrades twice. The chronological order had more to do with my finances and available time/convenience than personal priorities, which are as follows:

1. All-weather floor mats
2. 3M Clear Bra
3. Door edge guards
4. Mud guards
5. 17" wheels/tires
6. Illuminated door sills (I missed these so much when I didn't have them on my 2nd car)
7. Window tint
8. Fog lights
9. Woodgrain trim (didn't have with bisque interior but I want with it the grey interior I have now because I miss the color contrast)
10. Clear 'Prius' rear bumper protector (haven't replaced it yet and don't know if I will)
11. Pin stripe (haven't replaced it yet and don't know if I will)

 

We just had ours done with 3M Clear Bra last month for $488.53 incl. tax.

 

My first desire is a body kit but it's going to take awhile before I get one

 

First things I did were tint and lower the car

 

1. Window tint...all the way around, ex the windshield. Did this as soon as I could after getting the car. Oklahoma gets very hot (105+) in the summer.

2. HID's from HIDExtra. No relays. 5000K. I have a 50 mile one-way commute (1 hour). From late Nov to early Feb, both trips are in the dark, so good lights are nice to have.

3. Winter floor mats (trays) for the sloppy season.

4. Cell phone cradle (powered). I like to stream internet audio through bluetooth to the radio. This eats alot battery.

5. Sharkfin antenna. Looks better.

6. Fumoto drain valve. I do my own oil and this makes it alot less messy.

 

I saw an authorized VentureShield guy install the shield on a new corvette for a dealership. He did an awesome job so I paid him to do mine. Expensive ($700), but lifetime warranty. He covered the whole front end, bumper, lower air dam, hood and mirrors. I had one bubble under the hood shield and he replaced it with a new one. It has saved the front end on my car with long freeway travel to work everyday.
