I see no logical way the fog lights could reduce the MPG by about 20%. I think you'd have to be towing another car or only driving uphill to have the MPG reduced by that amount. But I can understand some minimal MPG loss as the aerodynamics with the fog lights are slightly less than the "plug" used in place of the fog lights. There isn't much about proper precautions for this installation except something dumb like don't crack your front bumper.

I didn't disconnect the battery. Not sure whether I should have done it. I don't recall the instructions requiring you to do that.

I thought the only bad part about the installation was connecting the red wire to the brown wire on the ECU. Rather than use the connector they give you, buy some T-Tabs and make the connection with that.

OK, just received the KIT today ( in fact just unpacked - looks great.

Need to call the car audio/video guy for installation.

I downloaded the installation instructions from priuschat.com shop.

Any last minute thoughts / suggestion as best practices ?

Yeah, in the instruction you downloaded, they installed the switch upside down! Install it the right way so you don't look like a dummy...

I'm serious people. Go to your local electronics store and buy a set of T-Tabs. Use that instead of the red gizmo in the package used to connect the red and brown wires.

at first I just snapped it closed --- later I had to go back in there and really mash it down with pliers....after that no issues.

I had to use pliers on my tap also. I could not get enough pressure on the tap with my fingers alone. Once I used added pressure with the pliers I had no further issues either.

    COMPLAINT!

The Priuschat shop shipped my fog lights in so fast, now I have to install them this weekend or my wife will get out her bull whip and leather undies. Hmmm... I'll install them next week.:p

    Seriously, Thanks Danny!

I think we'll need pictures of this install.

And take note of the few posts immediately prior to yours as you can see that they've had trouble with that one connector, but they stated their solution. Personally, I like the T-Tabs better. And to further my case, if you look at all of the connections made by Toyota, they use T-Tabs, too (a lot of them).

I was on a Mac when I attempted to order the lights. Went on a PC at work on IE and the order went through immediately. Very strange, but thanks for the suggestion.

I ordered from my MacBook, and had problems as well. Order went through but did not show up in my purchase history. Will have to remember to order via PC next time...

Just wondering, those of you who bought HID kits for Prius V with LED headlamps, what HID color temperature matches with the LED color?

Would you say it's more like 5000K or 6000K?

    I'd appreciate your inputs.
