little update for Canadian owners! Toyota Canada updated their website! For 2011, we dont get anymore the misty grey inside well it was only available with winter grey and blue ribbon! Bisque is only with red and sandy beach metallic! Other than that the Touring or Premium Package with Solar Panels are the same price ( 31 865 ), and the Premium Package with Solar Panels now come with Front Illuminated Doorsill Trim just like the Touring before! Not much change but its sad no more misty grey inside
Anyone have an update on the 2011 production in Japan for the Prius. I haven't seen anything about the start of production, and was wondering when it will start. Moreover, does it take about 3-4 weeks for cars to reach ports of entry on the East Coast?
probably soon.....i picked up my 2010 prius last night....it has a 10/10 build date.....must have been one of the last on the line
Plus, Toyota Canada is offering $3000 (in Canadian Dollars) Customer Cash Incentive on their 2010 Priuses: TOYOTA CANADA : Promotions > National Promotions Edit: Actually, at current exchange rates, that's around U.S.$2900.
Yes that why of instead of buying a 2011 that i would have ordered ( Winter grey with misty grey in Touring ) i bougth a 2010 since they have Touring left in dealership. Not that much because its not very popular choice! But anyway even if i would have wait for 2011, i couldnt get the misty grey anymore!
Good to see that the price remains the same, no increase , standard Prius II is still MSRP at $27,800 They are still charging $220 for the white paint though.
Trust me, $220 is nothing for premium paint. Toyota GB charges Cdn$600 for metallic paint and $900 for Blizzard Pearl. Mazda Canada charges $200 for their pearl white Nissan Canada charges $135 for metallic paint and $300 for their 3-coat paint That sucks. Misty Grey (esp. in cloth) was quite nice (I say cloth because it probably won't stain as easily as the leather version with regards to denim)
....was just chatting with my dealer, he said there is no word yet on any incentives for the 2011 yet, but there might be in the spring after the 2010's are cleared off the lots. No incentives for the 2011's until the 10's are all gone.
Some years back, there were pics of a Prius pickup circulating on PC. Hyo silver coined the working title: Prickup.
Checked out some areas/news regarding the next - 2011 Prius. I got one of the first 10s - Model V - in June of last year. 13,000 miles -troublefree, and quite pleased overall. BUT - can't say I'd do it again based on the '11. With No changes. Well, except for an interior color mod with Black exterior. And new model nomenclatures - One thru Five. With a slight price increase. Wow... Now that the 'new' Prius is a commodity, and nothing dramatic on the streets...? I know Toyota's had a tough year and economics are tight. One would think that Toyota would make some positive changes to entice new buyers to the '11. Changes/improvements that we PC'ers have provided via this forum. But it appears MY'11 will be a direct carryover with virtually no changes. A mistake, considering the alternatives - especially if one is not an MPG/Hybrid wonk. Unless of course if Gas prices soar next year. But Toyota better watch its back - esp from Hyundai.
I may be wrong but have the impression Toyota does not update their models very quickly. Current Camry, Rav4, and Avalon have all been out for a very long time. And the Tacoma. All have 2005 model year as the current generation I believe (Camry maybe one year newer). This is really old. I hope they intend to do a huge line of updates for 2012 model year.
Might be the poor economy causing Toyota to hold back on changes to keep their operating costs down. Mike
Camry - 2007 RAV4 - 2006 Avalon - 2011 (if you believe it was truly a new model and not a refresh). Otherwise, 2005. Camry is on its 5th year and there will be a new one out for 2012. RAV4 is on its 6th year. There should be one out for 2012 but I haven't heard anything Avalon.. well it was "redesigned" for 2011. after 6 years. 2012 would be early (since Toyota tends to update after the 3rd year so MY2013 for the Prius) but then again, they were early for the Gen 2, allowing the refreshed model to have a longer lifespan (3rd-6th year vs. the typical 4th and 5th year). No
Only real change is the addition of a bisque color choice as an interior on a black car. The changes to these cars are made all year long. Seat materials improve, engineering improves, small things you or I may never notice. Tangible changes are just the color choice interior to 2011.
Now that the 2011's are arriving on the East Coast, has anyone who ordered a 2011 received it, yet. Ordered one in October, no word on the delivery, yet. When would they fill orders, now by mixing them in with stock orders? Or later??
Wow! I see cars.com even lists a few in New Hampshire! We're barely a week into 2011, and the 2011s are "already" here!
I had actually thought the 2011's would have been out long before now, but they are just starting to show up here and there on the dealers lots. Haven't gone to look at one yet, but I'm guessing that since there are still quite a few 2010's out there that there won't be many 'deals' to be had on the 2011's. And, with no real changes to the 2011, buying a brand new 2010 now, will still have the same warranty length etc... with all of the end of model year discounts...
