I was driving on the freeway when I hear a beep then the red triangle, brake, VSC, and check engine lights light up. It still ran well but whenever i step on the break a continuous beep comes on and the word "brake" comes on but disappears when i let go of the brake. I brought it to Servco Toyota Honolulu but it has not been seen and it's been 3 days. They put me on "standby" since i didn't have an appointment and was told it might be longer before they actually get around to checking it. Is this type of service also seen in Toyota shops in your area? I'm just wondering...
No. The service from my dealer is fairly quick. All of the dealers are independently owned and operated. As such, they differ widely. Tom

Servco Pacific has a monopoly on Toyota new vehicle sales and warranty service in Hawaii. It appears that they don't have sufficient service capacity in Honolulu to keep up with sales, given your story. In the mainland US, the dealers are independent from Toyota Motor Sales USA and have more incentive to offer responsive service (as most larger cities have multiple Toyota dealerships.) Since you are hearing an audible alert when depressing the brake pedal, it sounds like a serious problem. Perhaps the brake pressure accumulator has failed.
I have the same problem that came up in my 2001 Prius - it's running really rough with no power and it seems that a fan is running in the truck which might have something to do with my battery. Any info on this problem greatly appreciated and I do live in Honolulu too so I'm concerned about the wait from the dealer too. Anyone have a name of an independent shop in Honolulu that services the Prius?
This sounds like a different problem: the OP reported no driveability issues other than brake problems. In your case, it does sound like the traction battery has failed. We would need the logged DTC to say for sure. I assume your car is out of warranty. If you have Servco Pacific replace this you may be facing a $4K repair bill. It's not clear that the car has sufficient market value to justify spending that amount on one repair, considering the other problems that might creep up over the next few years.
thanks for all the feedback.... this is frustrating.... @lyteman: I haven't heard of any independent shop in Honolulu, and I don't know if I would trust one. My car just has all those warning lights on, drives well, and after a long drive, would beep when I step on the brake...
Just for kicks, there are things that you can try Reboot, if necessary try it 2-4 times with at least a 5 min wait. Power system ON, in ready several times. What is the SOC of the 12V, has it been replaced lately? if not you may want to consider it. Is the HV battery appearing normal, cycling between purple and green. Have you been generously using the AC? not for you, but the batteries. If the dealer gave me an answer that you are on standby and he might get to it, I would have that car back in my driveway or garage post haste.
Hi there... I tried all the power cycling. actually, I had it sit overnight at home before finally deciding to drive it down for service. Whenever I power up, on comes the red triangle, etc, and MFD beeps and displays "Problem". It still drove like normal, AC was fine. 12v battery is new.
HI did u guys solve the problem i have the same problem, but one difference i forget gas casket open in a petrol station?
