With the supply of Prius very limited and apparently the higher margin option 9 cars being somewhat limited in the Southeast, what does the poor dealer do. Here's one answer; in the latest allocation, there are 30 option 7 vehicles all with identical options for a MSRP of $27117!! The options include: Toyoguard (expensive scotchgard and wax) ash tray carpet mats 6 disc CD player accent stripe window tint rear bumper protector self-dimming mirror with homelink splash guards 17" Pirelli wheels cargo net Of course the dealer still has the option to charge over MSRP, which I'm sure some will. Ahh, yes, the SE's dealerships love their bling I wonder how it looks with the 17s on it - I bet they're the wheels off of the Matrix.
Package 7 with HomeLink and the CD changer? So it's Package 9 without the Nav system? I wouldn't think it was possible to add "numbered" options like the CD changer to a package. You sure these aren't just #5's? Do they have SE/SS and the HID headlights?
No... you can add the CD changer to any package. The upgraded stereo includes the changer and more (9 total) speakers. Package 7 sticks you with the standard 6 speaker setup.
There are only two audio configs available.. Deluxe (aka "standard") and JBL Premium. Package 7 comes with the standard one, but I was under the impression that you couldn't add "package" items like the JBL setup without buying the package itself. So can Toyota install HID lights in my #5? How about SE/SS? I really wanted a #7, but didn't have that option at the time.
I can answer that -- asked the very same questions a couple of months ago. Sadly, no -- the hardware for the HID lights is very different. And the SE/SS apparently needs to be installed at the factory.
