Pulling everything apart and running wires to the battery is a bit of a PITA (to put it mildly).

Why not get an 800w inverter ($50), install it near the battery, then just run an extension cord up front. The added bonus is all the other stuff you can run/charge (laptops etc).

I run a 1500w ($100) inverter near the battery (always on), and just have an extension cord running up front under a seat. We've even run full PCs with monitors in our Prius (long trip - good chance to load and configure software - which in today's world can take a day)...

It is only one watt so it won't recharge the battery but it will provide a trickle charge sufficient to keep it's full charge while in storage. The rear window is slightly tinted (original) I did not add any extra film on it.

    Thanks for the great posts.
Does anyone have the wiring diagram for the center console power outlet?
I did the same in our 06 Ridgeline and 07 Odyssey.
    That was simple.
You just remove the relay and insert a jumper in place.
I am just wondering if the Prius has one as well.

    Thanks,

    Alan
