I pulled this from a PDF on Toyota's NA Pressroom Website. We've all seen these before, but one of the options stood out: MP3 support. "The 2006 Prius receives freshened front and rear lamps, advanced airbags, Tire Pressure Monitoring System and four new exterior colors: Magnetic Gray, Barcelona Red, Silver Metallic, and Silver Pine Mica. In addition, a leather-trim interior and steering wheel, rear camera and MP3-media capability and universal mini-jack connector become available." We've all heard about the universal mini-jack connector, but I've always assumed that MP3 support was bundled with this feature because all MP3 players have a mini-jack on them. (i.e. just get a dual-ended male mini-jack cable to "MP3 enable" your Prius) However, I'm interpretting the excerpt from the PDF as suggesting that the 2006 Prius will be able to read MP3-media (i.e. MP3 CDs). Does anyone else read it that way?
I've been of the understanding for several weeks now after reading all the junkettes that that cd player will read mp3's as well as have a mini jack in the center console for hookup of an mp3 player like an ipod.
