There is a warning in the handbook to not use double locking :lock1::lock1:when there are people inside the car.

 

I think that is something to do with the changing ECVT ratios, if you go over the brow of a hill with a constant pedal pressure, the HSI goes down.

 

Do kidnappers obey this warning, therefore declining to ever lock their abduction victims inside the car?

The U.S. already requires that the trunk (boot, for readers on the other side of the pond) have an inside release to allow trapped victims to escape.

 

I love the reminder beep I get when I shut the car off and find I left the sunroof/moonroof open. Only a dummy would leave it open on purpose after that. My brother-in-law wasn't so lucky with his G6. No beeps; left open; major rain storm. hee hee

 

Anyone know why they only gave you one?

 

If you had a ScanGauge-II hooked up, I bet you would have seen either fWT = 67, or cWT = 20. (For those without ScanGauges, this is engine coolant temperature, in either F or C.)

My long-term startup-EV test ended yesterday at 100 samples. This message was spotted 3 times, always at this one specific F temperature. It seems to mark the boundary between the too-cold- and warm-enough-for-EV conditions.

I also believe fWT is reading 67, not 68, due to finite precision arithmetic and truncation following conversion from an original reading on the C scale.

 

That is some crazy detailed study there!!

After reading this and another post about rough engine starts with Tumbleweed, I have started trying to go in to EV mode at startup in the mornings and afternoon when leaving for work.

One afternoon when leaving work the Outside Temp display indicated 66F. I tried the EV button and received the EV message about warming up for the first time ever. Very close to your 67F statement above !

 

Read my posts on this EV mode page for more detail of what I found. While the test ended at 100 trials, I've been too lazy to put in a final post there but did mention it in another thread.

just another thing i have noticed yesterday, the cruise control does NOT always work.

When i was driving in rather heavy rain, i got a message saying:

cruise control not available due to adverse condition.

i assume it was because the radar could not see ahead due to the rain. i suppose same thing could happen in a snow storm

 

FYI, for our Canadian cousins, Republicans think it is an invasion of privacy for us to be forced to have automatic headlights. Besides, health care costs might come down if we are protected from some accidents due to visibilty, and that would be bad for the profits of companies paying to elect Repubiicans.
