It seems we don't have a dedicated thread for this so I'll start one. Add the city/metro area and hybrid models you've personally seen used as taxis. San Jose, CA and Seattle, WA area - 2nd gen Priuses NYC - lots of NAHs and FEHs, a couple 3rd gen Priuses Boston, MA - lots of TCHs and a tiny # of NAHs, FEHs and HyHis. (I've seen 2 NAHs and 2 HyHis so far.)
Madrid Spain, Lots of Gen III taxis, some GenII San Sebastion Spain, A very few Gen IIIs, rode in a GenIII Taxi Cordoba Spain, Some Gen III Toledo Spain A couple of Gen III Sevelle Spain, Some Gen III Lisbon Portugal, a Few Gen IIIs Porto Portugal, a Couple of Gen IIIs Looks like they have recently gotten into Prii for taxis. There were lmore gen III than GenII
Brisbane, Australia--LOTS of 2nd gen and a handful of 3rd gen--I'd venture that over 25% of taxis were Prii. Sydney-rare 2nd gen Melbourne-some 2nd gen about--more than Sydney. Canberra-a few 2nd Auckland-a few 2nd

Montreal has a few G2 models on the streets. Some city suburbs have adopted the G2 and adorned with yellow lights & custom paint job as an inspection / recon vehicule. Montreal also has a few diesel/electric busses now. Quebec city has in their downtown core (old Quebec city) all electric busses. Also, obviously, Vancouver city in Bristish Columbia, though I haven't seen them.
I'm not that conversant on Prius years, but Vancouver, BC, Canada is teeming with the Prius cabs. Kinda sad when you see them parked and idling, though. Sorry, but has to be shown:
Seen them in Denver, CO as wel as Colorado Springs, CO both GenII and GenIII taxis. Most yellow, (guessing yellowcab) and some where white and green, I have no idea who owns those. Also seen some in Manhatten, the boroughs, and everywhere around the Tristate area, mostly GenIIIs though from my experiences. As for the picture above, every crushed Prius I have seen has had a perfectly shaped a-pillar after an accident. Notice how the door closes just fine, and nothing is out of whack. That is a very safe car...
Victoria, B.C., has a bevy of Prius taxis - both Gen II and Gen III, and some Hybrid Camrys, too. There is also Smart car parking spaces in Victoria!
Yeah, I noticed there were a # of Prius taxi threads but I intended for this to include other hybrids. As I mentioned, I saw lots of FEHs and NAHs as taxis in NYC, very few 3rd gen Priuses and didn't see any 2nd gens. I'm seeing a lot of HyCams as taxis in Boston.
