(Originally posted in the Knowledge Base by Danny on July 8, 2004) Toyota Extra Care Platinum Warranty Price - $985! Other plans available, please read below for more information and how to contact our PriusChat Warranty Representative. Please read this entire opening post before asking any questions that may already be answered. Many of our members are getting swindled by their local dealers over the price of the Toyota Extended Service Contract (Extended Warranty in layman's terms) so I decided to do something about it. PriusChat is proud to announce that for a price of $985, you can purchase the Toyota Extra Care Platinum warranty which will cover your car for a period of 7 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. The best part is this warranty has a $0 deductible. It also comes with Substitute Transportation coverage at $50/day for a max of 5 days per occurrence, free towing to the closest authorized repair facility, travel protection if the incident occurs more than 150 miles from your home and includes costs of meals and lodging reimbursed up to $100 per day for a maximum of five days over the life of the agreement, and transferability to another owner of your car for a fee of $50. How much does it cost? As stated previously, this great plan is available for $985, almost $700 off the MSRP price of $1650 What does it cover? Basically if it isn't listed in this short list <a href=\'http://www.toyotafinancial.com/pyv/extended_service_coverage/n_components_nc.html\' target=\'_blank\'>here</a>, it's covered under this service contract. Is the Navigation/MFD covered? Yes - check out the list of just the electronic & computer systems covered here: <a href=\'http://www.toyotafinancial.com/pyv/extended_service_coverage/n_components.html#compare\' target=\'_blank\'>http://www.toyotafinancial.com/pyv/extende...ts.html#compare</a> I already bought my car, does that mean I can't get the Extended Service Contract? Nope, you can buy it as long as you are within the original warranty period - 3 years, 36k miles. Bought your car used? You are eligible for <a href=\'http://www.toyotafinancial.com/pyv/extended_service_coverage/index.html\' target=\'_blank\'>other service contracts</a>. Contact [email protected] for more information. Interested in the <a href=\'http://www.toyotafinancial.com/pyv/prepaid_maintenance/index.html\' target=\'_blank\'>Toyota Prepaid Maintenance Plans</a>? $670 for the 4 year/ 55,000 mile Premium Plan. MSRP $995. I'm interested, so how do I order it and get some of my questions solved? Drop an email to <span style=\'color:blue\'>[email protected] with the following information: PriusChat Username Name Address Telephone # you can be reached at during business hours Plan you are interested in (you can get quotes for the other service contracts available, but those prices will not be posted to this website) Feel free to ask any questions you may have, we'll have a Toyota representative will be available to answer your questions. A quick note from PriusChat concerning using our offer as a way to "pricematch" with your dealer. Basically, please refrain from doing so. Telling your dealer about this offer could lead to higher prices in the very near future or completely pulling the deal from this site. Please read the message from Troy, our PriusChat Warranty Rep, below: "...If anyone feels that they simply must give their dealer the chance to price match, at the very least, give us the courtesy of keeping us anonymous so you don't ruin it for everyone. Just tell them you have gotten a better price at another dealer, and leave it at that. Don't give them a copy of this thread or one of my emails with all the info they need to go crying to their factory reps about how much money they lost because of us."
I own a 2005 Prius with 59,338 mile covered to 60,000. I want to extend to at least 100k. At the prices I have been quoted, over $1600, I would rather take the risk myself. I have had absolutely no problems with the car and see nothing that leads me to think it will suddenly require lots of work. 2 questions 1. Will the car last well? 2. Which is the best warranty to get?
Hi Mikemscott; Have you got a price quotation for an extended warranty request ? I have a 2005 Prius with 60,000 miles too. Please advise. Thank you. And what does cover in the extended warranty that you got ?
For all the new people here, welcome, but if you have warranty questions click on the above link and email Troy at [email protected]. He's a very nice guy and happy to answer your questions. He's been giving uas all a GREAT deal from the beginning and He's THE GUY TO DO BUSINESS WITH.
Am I still able to get the discounted Toyota Extended warranty on a 2004 Prius I am purchasing with 86,000 miles on it?
I just found this forum after I bought a Prius III with NAVA today. The MSRP is 27545 and my price is 25585 after the 500 rebate ends 4/4/2010. I purchase the following but I haven't installed anything yet. (1) Leather Seat upgrade $1460. (2) ResistAll EnviroGuard NG advanced protection $430. (3) Extended Warranty 8 yr/75000 mi for $1320. Does the price looks all right? If not, can I cancel it and purchase the extened warranty here?
I called Troy after he quoted me $1055 on the 7yrs/100,000 miles Platinum warranty. He wasn't available but I want to know if the car I bought today (2008 Prius II, 35K miles) would be covered under this plan.
Is this offer valid for US users only or can the same warranty be applied to Canadian vehicles. Just bought a '12 prius v
just bought a 2010 certified prius from adams toyota in leessummit,mo.i was able to get the platinum warranty for $995.
We just bought a 2007 Prius with 47K miles on it. They offered us a 3yr/36K extended warranty, which we declined. The car has 8yr/100K from 2007 for the battery, 7yr/84K on the powertrain from 2007 and 1yr/12K from today on comprehensive. So, effectively, we have 3 years left on the battery, 2 years on the powertrain, and 1 year on comprehensive. So, the warranty they offered us would have given us 1 more year on the powertrain and 2 on comprehensive for an additional $36/mo on our 60 month contract. Should we have purchased it? They said they'd give us an additional day or two to think about it so we're trying to do as much research as possible now. We weren't sure if by the time the car is 8 years old it would be likely to need the repairs that would be covered. Obviously it's impossible to predict, but when do these cars typically break down? Are the repairs generally pricey enough to justify purchasing the extended warranty? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!
I saw the Toyota web site and the Platinum warranty is 8 years or 125,000 miles. So how long is the $995 warranty for?
