One way is to hold the INFO button and turn the lights on and off 3 times. The second method is:

    1) Press INFO
    2) Press DISPLAY
    3) Touch the upper left corner of the area NOT covered by the display function
    4) Touch the lower left corner of the area NOT covered by the display function
    5) Repeat 3 & 4 two more times (a total of 6 pushes).

You have to power off to get this screen to leave. Pressing the upper left corner of the MFD then the lower left corner of this screen a total of 6 presses (up, down, up, down, up, down), followed by touching the lower right corner brings up more displays.

Yes, that will bring up MFD diagnostics. However the car does not link any ODBII data to the MFD. So, you will not find out about the vehicle's performance through the MFD diagnostics screen.

You can take it to Autozone or some other automotive stores, and they will check for ODBII based DTCs for free. They may require the MIL or master warning light to be on though.

The AVC diagnostic has nothing to do with the drivetrain ECUs or the body electronics area network (BEAN) ECUs though.

This is an AWESOME thread. I like being able to use the DVD NAV system while actually moving. Can anyone post some instructions for how to use the other options presented in this mode? There seems to be many selections though none of them give me any idea of what they display. One of you tech savvy Toyota certified Prius engineers should be able to help us fellow owners out here some how.

    Help a brother out B)

Much of it is for engineering/manufacture and maybe the Toyota gurus in Japan. Be VERY careful in that screen. DO NOT change the loading setting, or else your NAV will have to be reset.

"Reset" as in opening it up, removing and then reinserting a ribbon cable and finally re-enter all the information that was lost by doing this. That's all the parameters, POIs, etc.

The GPS button shows what satellites are being received, but it's best to not touch anything other than the override.

There is a button that might do the same thing as pulling the ribbon cable.

Good point. When I read of the struggle to get the NAV system going again, that button was mentioned. I know it was pressed and the cable removed, but it's possible pushing the button alone would've done the job. In any case, pressing the LOAD button is a bad thing.
