I had researched my Prius for 6 months prior to my 12/31/09 purchase. At first my wife liked it, then she really liked it .... then she wanted to swap. In all fairness, she feels more comfortable driving a smaller car, and even the 05' Accord was larger than she felt comfortable in, so I allowed her to do the steal. I'm really missing the SUV style of the interior as I always had the rear seats down and could put dogs, surfboards, and tons of junk in there! The good news is, I get to look for another set of wheels. It has to get 35+mpg as I am totally spoiled at the 49.5mpg (calculated) that I achieved in 9000miles. It also has to hold surfboards inside. I know the newer 'big' Prius is coming in '12. Have heard word of a Subaru/Prius combo? Oh yeah, I'm also a cheapskate and not willing to go above $24K Any ideas??? Thanks, Bart
Yeah, but 2 of the same car in the garage? Just feel a need to have something a little different ....
Not Japanese are you... Japanese couples like things in pairs... "pair iPhones," "pair watches," etc. I wonder if Prii like to come in pairs... you know, companionship... some "one" to keep them warm at night. (Can you tell winter's coming here in Maine?)
Why in the world would he want another one? [edit] wife whacked me on the head and insisted I add a smiley face.
Try the new CR-Z. I think a surfboard might be a tight fit but given that you can fold the rear seats flat, it might work. I haven't tried folding the front seat backwards. It also has a decent cargo area because of the lack of rear seats (i.e. they're probably gonna be left folded). That way, you have a fun hybrid and as well as a practical one.
No, we're not Japanese. But you got us with the his & her iPhones. As for our Prii, we sometimes wonder what they're up to when they're together in the garage and we're not looking!
Subaru has shown a hybrid concept car as far back as 2003. More recently, Subaru showed a Legacy hybrid to come out in 2010. Subaru is now talking about a Impreza touring hybrid to come out in 2012?: Less than $24K... I wouldn't think so. FWIW, IIRC, Toyota owns some 15% of Subaru.
I offered my wife my Blizzard Pearl so I could go get a CR-Z! But she doesn't want to give up her CR-V... A surfboard would look sweet on top of a CR-Z!
I make minimum wage, so I want the better gas mileage, plus it would be good that we don't use up all of the oil. But I know quite a few people who make a lot of money. Some of them care about the environment, etc. But most of them don't worry much about the price of gas. So, the term "gas guzzler" doesn't mean much to them. Dumb Mike
