I have a 2005 with approximately 5500 miles on it and the Integrity tires. I experienced a flat yesterday and was told it was not repairable. I asked for an Integrity replaced and being in a hurry I didn't realize until I got back to the office that the tire store and put a Goodyear Eagle on the car. It seems there are 3 Goodyears that will work on the Prius, but the Eagle is not one of them. I will take it back in tomorrow, but I wonder if it matters if I replace the tire with an Integrity or not since I have such low mileage on the other tires---any opinions out there on this? Thanks!

I think there is something in the owners manual that says all 4 tires must (or should) be the same size, tread pattern, construction, etc. This makes sense to me because of the tc, vsc, and abs. I think the Eagle would be OK but you would need 4 of them.

I replaced the stock tires at 10,000 miles with Toyo Spectrums, $346 for the set of 4. No more slippage and mileage is just fine. I agree completely with the notion of Michelins being overpriced and overhyped.

HELLO, 4/9/06 FROM VISITOR RE: TIRES..WHEN LAST POSTED AUG '05 WE HAD CHANGED TIRES FROM OEM TO G.Y. ASSURANCE COMFORT TREADS, SAME SIZE AS THE OEM's. NOW THAT WE HAVE PUT ABOUT 10K MILES ON CALIF FWY's. FIVE HOURS EACH TRIP ON THE '05 PRIUS WE ARE REPORTING THAT THE G.Y. ASSURANCE TIRES ARE/WERE A GOOD CHOICE. THEY RIDE SOFT AND ARE QUITE COMPARED TO THE PAPER THIN AND NOISY OEM's. OUR MILEAGE IS ABOUT 46 AT 75MPH WITH TWO PSGRS AND LUGGAGE. BEST WAS 57 MPG AT 55 TO 60 MPH. STILL WE JUST LOVE TO PASS THE GAS STATIONS EVERYBODY ELSE IS STOPPING AT. AND NOW THAT GAS IS $2.70/GAL WE WERE SMART TO BUY THE CAR IN THE FIRST PLACE. END VISITOR
