I am in Lexington, KY and getting ready to take a business trip to Nashville, TN. I need to rent a car and thought it would be nice to rent a Prius since I have been thinking about buying one. Does Enterprise still rent the Prius? Avis, Hertz, Budget, anyone? I searched the forum but no recent information was found except that maybe Enterprise quit renting them? Is that true?

There is a "Rent a Toyota" program where you can rent any new Toyota model at participating dealerships. Here is the link: http://www.toyota.com/toyota/html/shop/trac/index.jsp
I know this is an old thread, but thanks for the info. I am flying out to Knoxville, and wanted to rent a hybrid. A toyota dealership in the airport loop, wants $35/day for a rental, and there is no "young-n-restless" fee for us under-25 folk. So it is actually cheaper to rent a an awesome car than something like a Chevy Aveo (yuck!!!) from the major renters for $50/day because of the extra fee. I definately reccommend this, and I never even knew about it before. Thanks again!
I've rented Prii from both Avis and Hertz. Hertz even has a try and buy program for their cars, including Prii. That being said, I'm sure that availability varies from location to location.
I'm currently on waiting lists from all of my local rental car companies. Do all the Toyota dealerships rent?
No. They all have their own rental policies. Some rent their own vehicles while others contract out the rental services.
I was in VA last week and there was a Prius on the Rental Lot in a national Rental Lot. Also, there is an Enterprise Lot right accross the street from Dobbins AFB that has two on their lot, so they are available to rent on the East Coast...
I tried to rent a Prius from National (I think it was!) at the Toronto International Airport last summer. They had them but they said there was a surcharge because it was in the luxury car category. I only needed a car for three days and had no upgrade points so I decided on a compact car. On one hand I was glad they considered my car a luxury car but on the other hand I was upset I couldn't justify the extra charge per day while there.
