So, i noticed a strange thing today when i was in the garage in the afternoon and the sun was hitting the prius through a small window. is this normal? i can only assume that it's because the bumper is a different material. needless to say, i've never experienced this with another car i've owned.
Maybe something with the window the sun was coming through. Whats the thin white line between the colors?
I've observed similar color difference on my Winter Grey. If looking at an angle under the sun, the bumper looks darker.
I would suspect two different tint films applied to the window, with a thin uncovered stripe between. A quick test would be to go back and let the light shine on a piece of white paper.
Its the paint and its typical on alot of cars. Since the bumper is far more flexible than steel they use a different paint composition with flex agents. This reduces the chance your bumper paint with flex, crack, peel etc.. I have seen this for years on various cars. Craig
thanks for the responses. the white line isn't a line but just where the bumper molding meets the fender. the way the sun was hitting it just made it look like that. the flexible paint sounds reasonable. i just have never experienced that on a car before. but i've never had a car like this before either.
